While I get people arguing strongly against homophobia, this is true also. It hurts some to even think homophobia exists mind you so people will get irate. But it can still be civil. Resorting to sending anon hate and spamming memes isn’t civil. But isn’t surprising as this is AD and there’s sometimes a lack in being civil. Not all the time. Just sometimes.

This was solved a long time ago: first of all, it’s against TOS, so there’s none of that going on, or will go on.
Second of all, the only pertinent argument – opinion based ofc – is “it’s uncool bro, I can think of 100 different character flaws” which… good for you, that’s perfectly fine.
The idea of a bad trait is to be overcome, and through the journey the end result is that much more satisfying.
But rest assured, it really is against ToS so it won’t happen at all.

No, the argument was debunked pretty swiftly but your guildie got very angry about it and dismissing everything that proved her to be objectively in the wrong with some weird thought police arguments.
To re-iterate in the name of good faith before the clowning continues:
The lead writer of World of Warcraft said on record that homophobia and other sexuality-based discrimination does not exist in this setting. This debunks any IC arguments in favour of it because ruling came from the top down that it does not exist, period. Headcanon about surviving genocide turning blood elves into homophobes are objectively invalid.
The game rules state that homophobia is not allowed what so ever, debunking any OOC reasons for importing it into the game. The CMs have said repeatedly over the course of the many drama posts on Argent Dawn over the years that RP interactions fall under the purview of the ToS; swearing and doing graphic acts, as well as ERP are bannable offenses and people have been both banned and muted for them time and time again despite it being “just IC bro”.
In light of this, any homophobia anyone does in-game is specifically intentional on the player’s part. It breaks the rules of the setting and the terms of service of the game. Your guildie (and the classic clown) were asked repeatedly to stop doing this, only to be told that we can’t tell them what to do. The 5 mile deep hole you dug aggressively defending homophobia in the setting despite numerous cases proving you wrong is what paints you in bad light.
In short: You played yourself. All you had to do was say “Yes, homophobia is bad. It does not belong in this setting.”
That’s it.
