I am one of those casual pvp players who in retail enjoy playing battlegrounds and in fact I have fun most of time even I would be on losing side as the combat is fun.
I also sort of enjoyed at start playing classic vanilla pvp as AV is not that much about small scale pvp and it is more about large scale fights and strategy. Also classic vanilla pvp grind system was addictive.
Then comes tbc battlegrounds. Barely anyone plays AV anymore so there is way more actual pvp and you would think this should be good thing? Well when you are basically most of time facing meta specs and try hards you suddenly realize you are not having that much fun. Also I have noticed that my teammates don’t either seem to have fun it is fairly common that people start raging at start and just want game over as fast as possible. It is as if those people want their epic honor items and then stop playing. This is what I am feeling right now myself too. I don’t think I will be playing much battlegrounds after I get my items.
So what will happen? Horde pvp queues get significantly longer after alliance players quit playing battlegrounds right after getting their items. I honestly rather play retail battlegrounds than tbc battlegrounds.

I know that nothing is going to change which why horde queue times will be getting longer and longer as more alliance quit playing battleground after getting their honor items.
Retail battlegrounds have more variety as there are more classes and specs in matches. TBC classic most players are playing same few meta classes/specs in battlegrounds. There is not that much variety in battlegrounds. So not sure what was you point.
The PvP in Retail is by far more boring they make all classes work the same way, with the same amount of tools and answers to get out of all situations.
Classig PvP however it’s more about team play and learning your class and accepting that you can’t get out of every single situation. Also each class feel more fresh and unique compared to copy template that is retail classes.
They have added way too many classes which creates the issue that all classes gets more and more the same with every new addition to the game.
I disagree. Having tools to interact for situations makes gameplay more skill based and interesting. How rock-paper-scissors pvp is fun when you just lose before the combat has started as your class has no tools against certain class and one the other hand you just basically auto win some other classes?
I have more teamplay with retail randoms than with classic tbc randoms. Most of time in tbc no one even types anything to the chat. Unless they have feeling to rage while in retail there is more people talking about tactics. It is nightmare to play AB in tbc classic with randoms when no one makes calls about anything.
