The system that’s in place for honor and conquest gear upgrades isn’t changing, My idea is a way to increase honor gains by being a better and more involved player in PVP.
For rated PVP, honor from rated arena or RBG should scale with current rating to accommodate the costs of upgrades (something like 50% increase at 1600, 100% increase at 1800, 200% at 2100, etc.)
For unrated pvp I’d want their to be individual checklists, dependent on the class/spec you play, like; dispelling well, healing well, doing good damage, crowd control up-time, objective control, objectives secured/defended, doing more of these would lead to honor multipliers (incentivizing better game play also less players inclined to afk in unrated battlegrounds).
Both of these changes would reward being better at the game, and actually playing the game well in battlegrounds (something that isn’t currently incentivized).
Let me know what you think, with the system we have this would be a great change.
Indeed honor cost is kinda flying under the radar and is def. much more annoying to farm than conquest.
Tho wasn’t there a change with 9.1.5 ?

Didn’t really get the meaning of it but sounds like the Honor cost to upgrade rated gear is gonna get adjusted aswell ? Maybe just a typo since theres no conquest to upgrade anything afaik.
Yeah the increased amount of ranks will effectively reduce the honor cost from 1800-2100 for example, 'cause now there’es a 1950 bracket which helps tighten the gap, it’s a nice change for sure, but you’re still slightly behind and have a lot of honor to grind if you want to be bis, it’s such a pain for alts.
Not really I looked at the values over on the PTR and generally upgrading items to 246 gets a little bit cheaper overall like 200-400 honor depending on what slot, but then we also unlock an elite level upgrade, which is gonna boost your ilvl to 249 (this is PvE only though), which adds another like 2k honor on top of the previous costs.
Here’s a small hack to save some honor: Buy missing conquest items today, and upgrade them to 233/239 ilvl now, then do the 246 upgrade after patch. Reason being the upgrades to 233/239 get a little bit more expensive, while the upgrade from 239-246 gets a lot cheaper.
