I’ve never hidden my love to Warlods of Draenor. This expansion got so many things right like the leveling experience, cinematics, music, storytelling - only to be gutted by poor company politics and planning. As a result, it came out with only two patches before the team focused on Legion and we stayed for months without content. WOD was supposed to be a great game - but unfortunately, it was killed. It was sacrificed by the team for a flawed politics “one expansion per year”.
Which is why I’m so mad about retail housing. The garrisons were supposed to be that, but even on a greater scale! Instead, we never got more customizations, we never got race-specific building. But luckily, we got Winter Veil/Hallow’s eve decorations which were able to stay past the holidays. And instead of Blizzard returning to the garrisons and improving them they’re making retail houses anew.
Let’s hope WOD will eventually come, but it will probably last less than a year before Legion. After all, it only had one good patch…
Even if you add extra customization to garrison in WoD they are still going to be that place of social isolation and mobile like gaming mission table spam. There is literally nothing to do in there, but standing AFK alone (even though I’ve been raid lead at the time and constantly chatted in guild chat ). Legion Class order halls were much better despite having no personal customisation at all.

that awesome place where you could browse the auction house without the “social fun” of the toy train set?
btw there were some invasion quests with raid ilvl rewards and you needed a group of 3 if i remember correctly, obviously they did not update the rewards as the expansion progressed…so
That place is called brutosaur now, but if some train set is much problem to you just press ctrl+s while browsing AH.
Absence of capital cities hit very hard in Draenor, Ashran camps felt like we were refugees in Tol Barad base. Damn I would love to have (black) temple of Karabor as Alliance capital as it was intended back then.
