Is keeping things like it is now, makes people happy?
Wouldn’t comparing it to what is actually done make you more sad than before?
I do not claim that to be a perfect solution, but I like souls-like story telling quite a bit. Something like that could work. Or not. It requires time and a few iterations before things move from swinging from good to awful into something consistently decent.

Not really, no. I already expect my headcanon to be wrong. If Blizzard writes it on the other hand, it’s a promise (or threat, I guess…) I expect not to be kept. Which is a lot more insulting.
