You can watch a general sim on how much racials are worth.
But generally I think is mostly up to general preference unless you really need to squeeze out every % possible.
And also extra mobility can’t really be simmed, the least time it takes to deal with movement the more uptime you have.
And sometimes having extra mobility tool can be invaluable compared to a tiny %increase.
If youre demo you go troll. Affli orc. Destro doesnt matter really. There is not much of a difference between racials anymore to lose any sort of braincells over it however. For Affliction its like 50dps or something. Thats for pure dps. And as Bregastor said you cant really sim utility racials and have to figure that out for yourself.
Depends. I still haven’t decided my main spec for raiding, but I’m thinking of Destro for raid and affli for M+. But my prio is still raiding, so as there are a lot of opinions now, I started leaning towards orc. But still not 100% sure.
Do it like me. Flip a coin. Head Orc. Tails Troll. If you dont like the result pick the other.
Yeah and like, even in Demo, it’s like 150/200 dps on a BIS geared character.
But that’s because as a demo you want to pump out a lot of shard into the Tyrant.
If you’re this serious about your damage that you worry about race, I assume you’ll be changing specs for bosses as well, instead of just having a “main spec for raiding”.
Most of the fights will be demo this tier, for which the difference between Troll and Orc is about 0.1% according to bloodmallet sims. I don’t know how accurate these are, but their margin of error is apparently also 0.1%, so it’s not even clear what’s better. I know this isn’t the answer you’re looking for, but it genuinely doesn’t matter what you pick.
For destro, according to bloodmallet, the difference is not even 0.1%… it’s 0.001%. Literally 1 DPS difference, and you might as well throw that away when the margin of error is at the very least 5 DPS.
I mean it could also differ from boss to boss, but seriously, the difference is so ridiculously miniscule that it just doesn’t matter. I’m also very confident that if you’re asking these questions here, you won’t be able to play those specs anywhere near well enough to take advantage of the dps gains your race might give you. I know I can’t, and I know not even most of the top raiders care enough.
Look at the top parses. You’ll see all the races in there, even Vulperas. If it makes that little difference for those people, it will make no difference for you.
Looking at the top warlocks in raiding, they’re all orcs, at least the top 5 guilds, so I guess there’s your answer. But I just can’t stress enough how incredibly insignificant it will be to you, just as it is to me and pretty much everybody else outside of the absolutely top tier players. I guarantee you your choice of race won’t even make a dent in your DPS, and that is exactly why you inspected so many warlocks and read guides and ended up with no answers, because it straight up makes a completely negligible difference.

I’d roll Orc.
As much as I love Blood Elf Warlock, the Orc race is just better for the Warlock class in terms of pet damage, extra spell damage etc.
Now next: best build?
