Horde Warlock Race Choices Shadowlands

:exclamation:Posting this in General Discussion so more people can see it.

Hey folks! I was thinking about re-rolling to Warlock this patch, or in 9.1.5. What are the best race choices in Horde racial wise? I’m looking forward jumping into Mythic Raiding and doing higher keys. I took a look at Blood Mallett data, inspected the top 1-200 Warlock players and read guides, but what came out was a jungle. There were mostly Orcs, Trolls, Blood Elfs, and I’m pretty sure some played Goblins. So which of these are the best for maximum DPS? Mainly for Raiding, then M+. ~ Also, please don’t comment the classic “play what you like” sentence, because I clarified in the post earlier that I’m looking to jump into Mythic Raiding so I want to maximise DPS. Thank you! :slightly_smiling_face:

I think people only used Goblins cause rocket jump on Painsmith.

And since orc gives pet damage increase + spell power vs haste from trolls, I think orc is the better one, but depends a bit on the spec you want to play as.

I know that trolls are known for their strong racials for casters, but I’m not 100% sure if they are the best for warlocks.

I heard about people choosing Goblin for mobility, but I’m not quite sure if that’s really worth it.

Ork for their spell power racial or Troll for their spell power racial.

Then the 3rd option is Blood elf for their weak CC.

Orc or troll.

Go with orc

Undead loks are sexiest

Either trolls or orcs. Both have racials that are basically a free trinket. Difference is that trinkets last longer. I’d go with orc, for lore reasons. Oh and you get increased pet damage as orc.

i d say orcs or trolls for warlock for pve performance with trolls taking an edge, undead when you go for style.

Just go on bloodmallet they have the sims for every spec.

Top vs bottom race is literally 0.1% if that difference, even if you mythic raid like you said it’s barely worth thinking about unless you’re hitting 99-100% logs.

I wonder why are you switching from druid to lock to begin with, that’s a bad idea you’ll have a much harder time doing m+ and you don’t have as many options, if i didn’t care about the aesthetics i’ll rather be a druid honestly

you call that small aoe purge?
the first two i agree with for pve.

This isn’t my main character. :slightly_smiling_face:

Orc racial is great for pet spec and mogs look best on orc male, the casting animations are top notch as well!

I personally prefer to pick based on looks, my warlock is a nightborne, and while the racials might not be the best (+1% magic dmg, AoE pulse with a slow effect), it’s still an acceptable one, and are useful if you can make use of the CC (for mostly kiting or PvP), or if the fight is a long one as then it more or less catches up to Orc and Troll. Damage racials were balanced with the intent to provide ~1% bonus damage roughly, give or take.

I say you roll the race you like best. A good nightborne over a rookie troll any day.

For DPS go orc or troll, for M+ utility go blood elf.

What no love for the extra bag space and separate hearthstone? Who needs dps anyways :stuck_out_tongue:

Yea, unfortunately these racials aren’t really worth it. :slightly_smiling_face: The guild I’m looking to join has one Vulpera Lock also, but she said she is thinking about switching over to Orc.

You’ll look fabulous as a sin’dorei. That is the strongest racial available.
