Okay. Again, I’m no music expert, so I label it a medley because the other ones were medleys (so I’ve been told) and this sounds similar. But maybe not? Eh. It’s bits and pieces of different tracks. Call it whatever!
But yes, it’s not quite like the previous ones (I said that before as well). Blizzard used to have the main title score be a bit of a journey where you heard snippets from the past and the adventure you had been on, and then moved into the adventure that awaited you.
This one doesn’t quite have that. It’s just a mix of TWW.
For the same reason your parents likely told you to stop complaining too when you were a child.
This entire issue, is an issue you have to look for.
Sound settings exist in video games so people can adjust/customize their audible experience in the game to their preferences. But suddenly the existing ones “aren’t good enough anymore”.
And while I can definitely see the option to pick menu themes based on preference SINCE I SUGGESTED IT MYSELF 2 WEEKS AGO (btw. no one really liked my post either nor commented), I feel like the need for this is not that important right now.
Sure, in a few season they can introduce such a feature. But we have more pressing matters that need fixes for the TWW launch than having selectable menu music due to anxiety-minorities.
Ergo the OP’s suggestion is to have the option to choose between different tracks.
That seems like an okay suggestion.
Blizzard have already implemented that in one of their other games.
StarCraft II.
It literally has that option.
You can choose your own main screen and music. There’s like a handful choices.
So why is that a suggestion that needs to be beaten down when proposed for WoW?
Edit: Ah, I shouldn’t just have skimmed you post, you give the answer yourself:
You’re playing forum police.
Pathetic. It’s a video game forum. It really doesn’t matter what we talk about here, it’s not going to have consequences for the launch of the expansion. Like seriously dude… Relax.
You’re right, apparently it’s not a “you” issue, and i sincerely wish all of the people who get anxiety from this login screen music the best in this next expansion, and the coming one in midnight where they might turn off the lights too when you log in.
I can count you’ll be here to make a thread on it too when they do, and advocate for them to turn the lights back on again, yes?
And settings for music loudness, sound effect loudness, dialogue, ambience, even the option to have music to loop play. That’s in fact a bit more than the average game has btw.
Re-read my entire comment and read it carefully. Because you clearly didn’t read it fully.
I support the idea for customizing the tracks in the menu if wanted to. I oppose the reasoning given by OP for the themes being “anxiety-inducing” and “not having a welcoming tone”.
Yeah no Sherlock. This game is called World of WARcraft. What did OP expect? Sunshine, Lollipops And Rainbows? In a game called World of Warcraft?
Exactly. This will be something that will bother OP for at least the next 1-2 months before it gets changed. OP better get used to using that mute button for the music, as I suggested… AS A TEMPORARY FIX.
Me too. I have some of the Mists of Pandaria music and a few other select tracks as part of my ‘walking music’ playlist I sometimes listen to while I’m out and about with the dog.
Doesn’t matter. You agree with the suggestion, so there’s no need to debate the reasoning.
I also don’t feel the music is bothersome, but I can certainly appreciate having more music options, so why even discuss which angle of reasoning is better? That’s pointless.
That’s the dumbest crap I’ve ever heard.
Blizzard’s other games – that have equally descriptive names – all have calmer and more relaxing music for their main titles and login screens.
It’s not like Diablo IV is just the sounds of wailing souls and tormented sinners because it’s called Diablo. Like, that’s the stupidest form of logic I’ve ever heard. As if the name of the game dictates the kind of login music that would be appropriate…
Here’s Warcraft III for reference: https://youtu.be/iqgT9_5bXqc
I at least don’t complain about such minuscule issues like this. There’s the difference for you.
Because I know what is an issue and what isn’t for the general playerbase. Also, I am growing older by the minute. I am tired of bending my knee to every minority getting offended over XY thing, may it be pronouns, music, ideology or any other BS going on recently.
you are though , you are complaining about the OP who is allowed a right to post on these forums. You do not own them or police them. You tried the same the other week when a person asked about upgrading the forums are not about you and your voice , your arrogance and being toxic is tiresome.
My point before was that it’s silly to sit around on the forum and barge into threads and tell others whether or not their topics are worthwhile, because you think it’s your holy duty to ensure that only important matters are discussed here, so that Blizzard can get the proper feedback they need to fix the new expansion before launch.
That’s so far up your own rear end it’s ridiculous. And I’m saying that as a former MVP. That degree of self-imposing forum police attitude is totally not necessary. Trust me.
I assumed it was because I got a forum ban recently that I lost some privileges in the process, but if it happens to others as well…Eh, forums be weird sometimes.
