I am wondering what is everyone’s opinion on Balance,Feral,Shadow,Elemental,Arcane, frost(mage),and BM in pvp?
These specs are disgustingly under-powered in pvp, no wonder you don’t see any of them.
I will focus on Balance which is a spec I have mained since Wrath and is currently a joke, Fire mage,Destro locks,DKs,Paladins, and Demon hunters are literally deleting us in 2 seconds, the spec has no survivability no real damage outside starsurge mediocre CC with Cyclone( which prevents you from dpsing) and no healing at all.
With you all due respect a game that has a subscription of 15 Euros a month should have all specs be viable, and have proper balancing.
For the people that started BfA from launch it was clear that the company did not test the game properly in beta or maybe they just don’t care about PVP?
I hope the community remembers the state of rogues and Disc priests at launch? or how Shadow priest mains payed to play a useless spec an entire expansion?
This is not an indie games server ! Fix your damn game !
Do not post silly comments like wait for shadowlands bla bla, the objective of this thread is to highlight this atrocity because it seems most people are so used to Blizzard/Activision having this type of imbalance to the point that they simply reroll to another OP class or spec instead of playing what they like or even love for years.
Sorry that is not an answer to a paying customer. They need to fix their horrible specs regardless of content. If most of the player-base has your mentality no wonder their game is so broken and they don’t fix it. Whatever they serve you, you say thank you.
I disagree. I don’t think every single specs in game needs to be PvP viable. One dps spec for all classes and one healing spec for healing classes is enough. In the case of druid yes they should buff balance or feral to be more viable. Do we really need arcane mages to be PvP viable? I don’t think so. Blizzard is already having hard time balancing PvP, trying to balance even more specs won’t make PvP better imo.
I would suggest you don’t wait for Shadowlands. Or balance in all specs and classes for every bit of content in the game. Because it’s never going to happen.
Feral isn’t a bad spec, jungle is exceedingly good right now and feral/disc is very good in 2s. Frost mage has been good in RMD like the entire expansion. SP has also been decent for quite a lot of the expansion. Boomie hm less so but has been played and BM well, shouldn’t exist in arena. Elemental has been seen in comps like thunder relatively well
When it comes to PvP, everything is designed around 3vs3.
On one end, it kind of sucks because I don’t personally find Arena very interesting beyond 2vs2 and even then it’s not exactly my preferred venue of PvP.
But battlegrounds would be a terrible template.
1vs1 balance design would likely homogenize everything.
5vs5 borders on BG design approach.
If we imagine, hypothetically that any of these were being considered for the reference of balance, moving forward, they’d all have significant flaws.
10v10 i.e. BG template would likely mean entire classes had no CC other than maybe snares and 2vs2 could also spell trouble but in the opposite direction.
In the end, 3vs3 is probably the best template to build towards. It’s a good middleground.
The overarching point in my message is that there’ll always be casualties in PvP when balancing things. It’s not build around predictable factors such as with PvE.
Even if you brought in the most passionate PvP players who, for the sake of the argument, also has a ton of game design and development experience, they’d still leave a good amount of us unhappy.
Demon hunters can seem brutal, but face one as a shadow priest and you can make them cry. It’s quite relative, which all things considered? Is pretty impressive.
Seeing a boomkin opponent always makes me smile and during the fight my favourite boomkin move is “Turn your back and spam Moonfire while spamming jump simultaneously”.
They are able to climb untill 1500 I guess, you are better than Enchancement Shamans, aren’t you?
And their main problem is lack of interrupt as far as I know, only 1 with a long cooldown.
Every DPS spec/class should be viable in PvP. It’s a bit unfair to grind your first character to 120, get into PvP and be told “Sorry, that’s a pve class”.
To add, I feel like some other under-performing specs in PvP are Arms, Frost DK and Enhancement Shaman. You should receive a “At Least You Tried” achievement when engaging in PvP on these specs.
none of the specs you mention except arcane is terrible in pvp.
Balance is ok in 3s, not the best not the worst. Good in bgs, sucks in 2s and 1s
Feral is good. Good in bgs, good in 2s good in 3s and godlike in 1s
Shadow is okish. At least in 3s not toooo bad, rest sucks though
Elemental, kind of a gimmick spec but at least you can actually do dmg. They are very good in bgs and 1s as well
frost mage is very very good in all pvp content. Just gets overshadowed by fire because fire is busted.
BM is not bad by all means, but not suitable for the highest level. Certainly enough for 2,2k+++ and very good for bgs
there are only 4 absolutely trash tier specs:
enhance
Affli
MM
arcane
Demo is just half garbage. Even outlaw can work with gear as long as you dont face triple plate
490 ilvl, sure.
Also everybody saying SP is fine should make one. I suppose you wanted to say “shadow makes a good cc bot for the destro overlord he plays with.”
Also the guy saying SP will make DH cry… actually explode with tears laughing.
