He could be right, but it falls under the “more people are doing LFR than Mythic” logic. Easier to access, guaranteed gear for starting off and faster to complete than anything else that offers the same rewards quality wise.
Ahhh the BfA nostalgia… No, nostalgia is not the correct word… PTSD.
timegating content months into a season is just ridiculous
Horrible visions
Nah I think they nailed the naming on this one.
Point being? I don’t do delves, only M+ really, and I’m at 676 atm.
I mean, it is a huge system. It completely nullified the lower M+ brackets. But currently, after gearing to a level or 640, I don’t see anyone who does more than 1 Delve a week around me.
Just pop that guaranteed Bountiful Map thing in a Bountiful Delve on 11, and collect 27 Gilded. That’s about it.
Otherwise it’s only used to hop from the starting ilvl (either fresh 80 or S1 char) to 630+ to get into M+6 or higher.
causals outnumber none lfr raiders and M+ they are about 80/90% of player base and 640 would be massive for them.
Really??? This guy is 632 and I’ve barely playing this expansion - i bet if i tried, i could get well over 640 by next reset, and thats without any vault slots, upgrades, etc
Yes really, i don’t think people realise how big the causal player base is and what they do. most of them like to log in, collect, pet battles, rp, etc, have a play and log out. they don’t chase gear.
Not disputing that, however…
The ‘etc’ bit is the most telling - the rest could be called niche stuff, but theres delves, world content, weeklies, etc that you do either willingly or passively that boost your gear quite substantially (i wont include LFR in this).
I do like collecting mounts and pets as a side thing when i get bored with current content
When you clear a zone for the first time you get a global 10% sanity reduction, there are 5 zones.
Stop going to the ones you’ve already done, go do the ones you haven’t and you’ll go from 40% reduction to 60% reduction.
The main issue is how hard and fast it ramps up when you get past the cathedral, way too many mobs hitting WAY TOO HARD, dodge stuff on ground, watch out for casters bopping for 1 mill + while eating hard melee, Soridormi also just stands in every possible AoE that’s on the ground so you cant even try to help her.
All this + a timer while trying to manage your sanity too?
Yeah this is Horrifically trash.
A complete maskless run is a joke though. After you get the upgrades/kill all the bosses once you can meme through.
The only player progression is kill 8 bosses for the enchant. When you need to do masked runs (maybe for the greater enchant) we will have more upgrades for the visions talent tree.
I killed myself doing those in BfA. I haven’t touched them now, doubt I will. Never enjoyed them, never will.
You could do a 5 mask clear on that char this week. It’d be pretty sweaty but you could do it.
I don’t doubt it, but for what purpose?
It would be great fun to try if we had to do 5 mask runs for like myth track or the greater enchants and we could do it this week. But by the time we need to do any of it, it will be substantially easier.
I’m not sure people care all that much about a hero weapon vendor, which i think is the only benefit to 5 mask atm?. You can easily spam 7s even on a new char and get a 681 crafted
Idk, fun, challenge. I don’t think shadow can physically do 5 this week but I’m going to prove that to myself first before I give up. 4 has been an absolute blast.
That’s what i mean though. Why shouldn’t they give you a reward or a mog or something for something like a week 1 5 mask. They constantly cater to the lowest denominator and it’s so tiresome
You could find a game that isn’t tiresome.
No you aren’t. Or, at least, if you’re not even getting the happy dopamine from doing them, then why on earth are you wasting your time doing m+!?
“Reward” isn’t just gear. “Reward” is whatever you, as the player doing the activity, think is the reward. It’s simply easier for Blizzard to go “look, you do this thing and you get a chance at this piece of awesome gear” than for them to say “do this thing and you brain will go happy”
