I don’t want this at all. I don’t need a fantasy/rpg game reminding me of my real life headaches either. I am meant to escape this BS by immersing myself into a world of fun.
I hope there’ll be a gnomish data box with a screen and a keypad for controls, as a decoration.
So I can RP as someone sitting in a house in front of a PC playing someone sitting in a house in front of a PC playing someone sitting in a house in front of a PC playing someone sitting in a house in front…
Peak immersion unlocked.
100% agree. I’m paying for a place IRL and WoW is already one of those (albeit minor) monthly payments, so I don’t need it to be a bill within a bill.
I can definitely see the housing having to be bought for gold. I even think its gonna be a lot more than 90k.
On top of that of course a new section in the shop with housing items (which i have no issue with, to each their own).
I dont think there will be any other fees but i hope they give us a lot of freedom in customizing.
The simplest way no doubt, but… Knowing the dev’s it most likely be something convoluted that requires a combination of, renown track 25, housing deed currency you need to collect from raids, m+ and or pvp and an astronomical amount of gold. The gold cost taken from the cost of warbank tabs.
Don’t mind this either. I have managed to play the game just fine without having the need to procure anything of interest in the shop. Secondly most players would most likely convert gold to token to account balance and shop away. So it is really neither here nor there - that is if the status quo remains.
I’ve never understood that line of reasoning, altho you’re hardly alone so I’m not disputing this makes some people tick. The stuff I collect, is stuff I enjoy. Only motivation I need. Altho I’m not particularly interested in housing, I’m guessing there are plenty of housing fans who don’t give a rat’s behind about showing off and just want to enjoy it for the sake of their own enjoyment.
I’m just hoping crafting patterns for housing can be made by all professions to give them all relevancy.
Crafting patterns drop from previous expansions aswel , it’s not a midnight limited thing.
I want rare world drop crafts and boss drop crafts. I want vendors who ask for gold to trade craft patterns.
But vendors who only trade in old materials , to keep older mats relevant .
Crafts from previous expansions , need the mats from said exansion to craft them. Say for example a Classic wow bed recipe , you need classic mats to make it.
I would like us to be able to make mansions over time , but don’t tie it all down to just dropping gold. Lock some rooms behind achievements , say learn 100 recipes. You unlock a walk in wardrobe. etc
If would be rather boring if day one you can drop gold cap and unlocked everything.
Aquariums so you can display fish from all expansion in them.
Mount stable
Pet lodge
Option to make your house public , private , friends only or guild members only.
100% cosmetic only , no mine or garden , or fishing pond that drops modern materials. Otherwise it will be Garrisons 2.0
Have different race styles , I would love to have npcs populate my house. Worgen butler would be cool for example.
Just a few ideas to throw into the discussion. Feel free to disagree.
I don’t like land grab, I don’t like having to maintain any kind of rent. That is the worst kind of housing. I do hope that Blizzard do it justice. This should be an evergreen feature available to everyone.
I’m wary of Garrisons and how little choice we actually got when it came to our choice of buildings. I do hope they better represent the races available in the game.
Would love to see various suitable locations too. The Horde Garrison had an awful location in an awful climate and the Alliance had a beautiful garrison in a lovely setting.
Thoughts on having a portal room , in your house ? Is that too OP ?
I guess we would need a house HS aswel.
Portal or HS would be nice
I couldn’t agree more, I hope housing will create incentive to engage with older content. I’d love it if Blizzard uses all of their world they have created over time, make everything relevant again, even if in a smaller way just for housing.
I don’t wish for a limited house stock like in FF14 though , It’s wow , I know WoW.
Goblins will buy them up and sell them for millions for profit. These guys don’t give two hoots about being good sports in a game.
I used to watch gold making youtube videos trying to make gold for that bruto back in bfa , some have litteral account caps , 600 million on mulitple accounts.
You can imagine these guys just buying up every single house/mansion , streets , why ? Because they can.
I liked the snow.I would love to be able to choose a snowy location.
Same, I loved the location much better than the alliance one. I wasn’t a huge fan of the orc mud huts tho
I hope Blizzard realizes that they can learn a lot from FF14(when it comes to player housing) and draws ideas and experience from that.
FF14 nailed it(apart from competition for space) and if Blizzard can do the same this can be amazing. If not, whelp, Garrison 2.0 it is.
Here’s hoping they don’t do ANY of what FF did. It’s a terrible system that makes people compete for space. Horrible, simply horrible.
Anyone who thinks FF’s housing is good, has never experienced an ACTUAL GOOD housing system.
I think people just want the same amount of decor and customization that ff14 has. The same amount of furniture and stuff to play with in your new house basically.
I dont think anyone want the same system as ff14 has. Where you have to buy a property and compete for space
That there, in your opinion, are better housing systems, does not mean the FF one isnt good and isnt a good level to aim at for Blizzard.
You are entitled to your opinion, as everyone is, but i think you are in a very small minority that thinks the FF housing system is horrible, apart from the competition for space which is indeed very bad, most people would agree there.
Exactly, thats why i said draw ideas and inspiration from it. And doing it correctly means only taking the positive things and not the bad ones.
I honestly wouldnt even mind a purchase price but the competition for space is terrible.
No. But in my opinion it IS a bad system.
Being right is often lonely.
