How´s the new grind for the ring and primordial stone?

I unsubbed close to a month ago. Got bored. Thinking about coming back to WoW depending on what it has to offer. However, I am wondering what people are thinking about the new zone + the Grind(?) for this new OP ring + its gem counterparts.

Please let me know what you think

Do a few Intro quests and you’re more-or-less there.

As a low intensity player myself I’ve got the ring with 2 of the better stones (according to Icy Veins) and another stone that seems ok for now (I’ll be able to replace it soon enough).

Although the Vaults won’t suit my playstyle so much as I’m not flying around farming rares to get extra keys. This will take me a while to get the shinies (mounts, pets, toys etc.) from here.

The process itself is more or less disgusting, but after a lost weekend i have rings ranging from good to best gems on 3 chars.

Keys should drop from m+/raid/rated pvp/WQ elsewhere and it would be no biggie.

Super boring zone in my opinion.
I expected the vault to be more somehow, than just some rooms with nothing in then. My bad I guess.

Ofc if you are a certain shill streamer, it is the bestest thing ever made… :face_vomiting:

Another system which resolves around RNG / luck with the ring as an incentive to keep players busy X amount of hours. Instead of creating something which is generally fun and engaging.

Just my opinion…

To clarify. the vault itself is somewhat palpable for a week or two, but the gameplay of chasing rares around is …

The build up gave me the impression it would be a bit of a Torghast vs Mage Tower environment. Instead you get to kill 3 baby spiders and its Mother and a few others. Loot chests whilest solving some really easy puzzles. The only conundrum, but apparently is solved, was the spec of dust which should pop up next week. Everyone will have the mount.

A personal challenge for players will be to collect the stones upgrade them 2 x and experiment with their own builds. Thats all there is to the vault really.

You literally just get it for free from doing the content passively

There is no grind. 10 mins for entrance quest to get the ring. Couple of hours of farming rares and elites just to get enough keys to open all the doors in the vault. Loot from full vault - another 30 mins, gives you plenty of gems to get best ones for your build, directly from the vault already or via smashing them and bying missing. Then 10 mins to create orders for jewelcrafter to get 6 upgrade items.
In total - one evening to get full bis gems and the ring. Be careful and simulate your build, because for well geared character the new ring could be a downgrade comparing to existing ones.

The vault itself is procedurally personally generated rooms with couple of kindergarden level puzzles. Nothing really exited.

Tell us what this disgusting process is exactly buddy? You literally do a few quests and you get the ring…

the grinding for catch up items is very easy , today i got 18 items on 4 alts , a fury warrior, an affliction warlock , a retribution paladin , and a beast master hunter, + i sent 5 items to a rogue, a destruction warlock , and a druid as some of the items are account bound for certain chars .

It is amazing how most of the players are unable to handle WoW without a grind or immagine without it

New lands dull and boring. Same mistakes made concerning farming open world rares and racing the 300 other people to nameds dying within 2 minutes. placed in stupid places to attempt to reach.

The Ring… took me less then 3 hours to get BiS and upgraded to 424.

the Quests are nothing extensive, i suspose it gives u a Chosen Buff per day on a rep which can give some half decent Catch up for people doing reps late.

no big lore reveals or plot openers.

10.1 looks more positive, prolly want to wait til then in all honesty if u arent M+ / Raiding.

the process is less then a hour odd of lost time xD, i wouldnt rly call it disgusting. honeslty, theres More content in trying to get a name for a Alt character then the duration of this lol.

(?) indeed.

Takes maybe 1-2 hours of story quests to get the initial item and a few random stones to put in it. If you clear the zone of rares a couple of times and unlock every vault door, you’ll have your pick of stones and be able to upgrade at least 3 to max ilvl.

Honestly it hasn’t felt grindy. Kind of enjoyed the little vault puzzles and I was done in about 3 days, after which I could mail spare keys and a ton of 385 gear tokens to my alts to get them rolling. The story quests are skippable 2nd time through, although I don’t think they’re particularly bad anyway.

it took me literally 2 hours
farming the keys and getting the gems that i’m interested in including enough fragments to upgrade them

casual grind imo

I would say don’t bother until 10.1, the ring is not a grind in the slightest and is just for casuals. Others are whining because there are no secondary stats. There’s a tiny questline, that’s it.

You can farm the cave for 2 hours and you’ll have 40 keys and 30k dust to buy more keys.

Well thanks everyone for your detailed responses. Looks like I will just wait for 10.1 and see what Blizzard comes up with.

i’d recommend coming back like a week before 10.1 so you can do the current content while waiting for the big update

sitting around on mountain tops waiting on rares, swimming underwater just to see it killed, just silly chasing around the map

it’s pointless and dumb. More power to you if you like such activities , just dont interact with me any further.
