How about city vendors selling some transmogs

I was just flying around Stormwind, and I saw some vendors who sell armor and weapons. These are gray items and not usable in any way. How about giving these vendors some meaningful items to trade?

Option 1:
Give them some cheap items for transmog. It’s not a big deal, but at least all these NPC will be useful in some way, and this might be useful for new players who spent their entire 1-50 level in BFA and got very limited amount of transmogs.

Option 2:
Give them weekly items for sale. This can be mounts or transmog as well, and these will change every week or a month. It won’t provide too many items, so players still have reasons to go out and farm old content.

Option 3:
Both option 1 and 2 together. Some items are there for one-time purchase, and some are there that change in weekly basis or monthly basis.

Option 4:
You suggest, maybe you’ve got some ideas too. But I thin all would agree that these NPCs can be reworked and used in a meaningful way.

All what I said apples to Orgrimmar as well, of course.

Its actually a good idea, i feel sad for some vendors who still try to sell their grey items… give them some good stuff so they can earn some money

A rotating selection of simpler looking transmog stuff maybe?

I don’t agree on the ‘cheap’ though. That will just make it much too easy and fast to just get them. Like the glasses; I just bought them and that was that. I wouldn’t have minded having to do a quest or something memorable.

The transmogs can range from ‘cheaper’ to ‘expensive’. Or even require a special currency that you can get through -insert activities-.

Yes, simple stuff, nothing extraordinary, so players will still have reasons to go and farm really valuable items.

Yeah, for this expansion, Anima would be a great resource. I have 100k all together in my chars and don’t know what to do with this all.

How about the Mage Tower mogs and old (also PvP) sets that aren’t available elsewhere anymore? But instead of full sets ppl only have the chance to get one piece of the full set every few days… and it can take months to get the full sets. Still better than having no chance at all to aquire them and it would be rewarding to poke about in the city to suddenly discover some “rare” mog item somewhere. A little like the Blackmarket AH, but without having to bid against AH-players with goldcap. :smiley:

I wish they’d add the grey and white items as transmoggable. Not sure what the reasoning is for not allowing it.

Some of the crusty grey stuff would work well for Death Knights.

Good idea. these poor merchants remind me the one in the video. Selling transmog could be a new life for them

Or these gray items can be transmogged too. I like minimalist design on my warrior. Often my transmog on my warrior will be very simple.

At this point, I feel like anything would be better than just selling some useless gray items.

Well, the price is a detail. Some things can be cheap, so new players can get more variety, cuz they don’t have gold, they don’t know how to farm, etc.

Yeah, poor merchant that buys stuff for hundreds of thousands of gold, haha. This is brilliant.

Preferably something in older zones to match the simple themes of the mogs. Could be token you get from older quests or whatever. Rewards + makes older content more viable. Win win in my book.

Vendors could sell the old starter robes, but they are transmoggable.

Blood Elf Mage starter robe was always one of my favorites.
