How about you guys stop this pathetic doom/defeatist charade?

That’s totally fine.
Content isn’t good now and people are surely leaving.
But WoW community has been toxic since I started playing. That means since BC.
Lots of elitism and people just being rude as heck.
I’ve been playing GW and WoW a lot, and GW community is so much nicer and better.

The design of WoW itself is what bolsters toxicity - gear mostly and ‘competition’/elitism.

It’s why I hope at least these toxic people will leave now and clean the community…at least one positive thing? XD

But content definitely needs to get better.
I feel the biggest issue is that WoW has been same/recycled for years, focusing only on grind and raiding.

As someone who doesn’t raid or do M+, I just login to do dailies and logout…

Didn’t sure feel as low with even during bfa patches.

wow wont die because of people like OP and a few others in this thread who will always play it…

however… wow will not be worth playing if the only people left playing are those people.

they are the most passive aggressive and toxic of the community.

so yea wow will live… but hardly anyone will play it.

Ahh, you too went to Goth nightclubs in the 90’s, I knew you were a person of culture…

Because they want to look smart, and hate other people having fun when they’re not.

They are, figuratively, the kid who goes “I’m going home, and taking my football with me” thus depriving others. Oh they’ll come out with the wails of “But I like the game, I want to like the game, but I can’t like the game, and so nor should you” Without realising how utterly infantile they sound.

Problem is, the toxic ones lack the courage of their convictions. They can’t just leave, oh no. They have to keep trying to persuade everyone the game is dead, just so that they can feel justified. They don’t have the stones to just quit playing, they need the game to stop, so that the decision is taken out of their hands. If they -actually- had the courage, we’d not see them posting. They’d just go.

Actually it is rather the other way around. I’d rather play with people who are like “This is still fun” than people who are like “This is not fun! This is bad! You are stupid for thinking this is fun”

Frankly, I wish all the Doomsayers would actually pluck up the intestinal fortitude and just leave. The Game would be better without them.

But of course, that would involve them having courage to do so.

I’ve always seen the “I quit” posts and videos as nothing but cries for attention. Outside of your circle of friends, no one really cares that you are quitting the game. Your wall of text of why you don’t like this game anymore is of no interest to me, so I don’t read those posts.

Pure speculation on my part, but I guess the majority of the players who decide to quit for whatvever reason do so silently and simply unsubscribe and move on to other games.

Or in my case… they forget to cancel their sub and pay for like 2 years when not playing  (WOD lol).

I kind of , sort of, for the most part agree… There are things I detest about this game, a million little things I would say are pure trash, but it’s still the best MMO out there by far. The classes feel great, the gameplay is fluid and responsive. And constant negativity is just exhausting man.
I sort of feel bad for people who direct so much negativity towards their passions, it must be a sucky place to be in :frowning:

Mind you I think it’s silly to de facto hate on people and their quit posts, since in my opinion at least, a lot of those posts come from a good place, even if many are not articulate enough to explain why.

Well summarized. I didn’t understand before why people would still play the game even tho they claimed to hate it. But, your explanation makes sense.

It’s just human nature Galander. People are much nicer when they are happier. Just the way of it.

I doubt its about courage, its just hard to quit generally, we’re all addicted to varying degrees. People have their friends on here, it may be some ppl’s only source of happiness, it may be the only game they enjoy. Quitting with the knowledge that you’d be sad afterwards isn’t rly a decision about courage

Sounds to me like you are just afraid of what is going to happen. This is what capitalism does and the big guys know it. The whole white man elitist pound anything until it’s bled dry and it crumbles - that is the nature of it. The game is coming to an end and no amount of putting your fingers in your ears is going to stop it.

Well said. I can also agree that I have been watching same threads and complaints for past 10 years and oh look - we are still here.

It’s funny, a member of my old guild used to say the exact same thing. In 2012.
Again: you guys should seriously consider professional help. So much negativity is not good.

It for sure will not. The game? Yes, perhaps. The franchise? No. There will always be new humans to experience the universe.

Actually, it would be nice if Blizzard acknowledged some feedbacks and gave answers to the things players were pointing out as bad. Like shard of domination is the pinacle and the synthesis of what’s wrong with Blizzard.

Don’t get me wrong, I want the game to thrive and succeed, I really do. But as Ronald Raegan said “Are you better of now than 4 years ago” and my answer to that is sadly no. And that’s the case for many players that already left or intend to left.

If Blizzard could stop with their ego and starts listening to players aboot why their systems are fundamentaly wrong. In my honest opinion, the game would definitely be better without most of SL’s systems. If systems were designed the right way, I would not think so. And that’s so sad to dedicate time and HR to systems that many players are actually not enjoying or are just an heavy time sink as some systems required extra work. I mean, they had to poor ressources into reworking some of covenants spell, and I’m just talking aboot the spell. So adding in extra covenant legendaries, we have a precept recipe for disaster.

subs run out 28th of Aug i’m leaving for good

Been complaining about the game for close to 3 years now … and all i can see is myself complaining about it for another maybe 2-3 years if i continued playing. So i’m off for good.

SL is boring AF 9.1 didn’t fix the boredom. I don’t think 9.2 will either. Ciao
