How are groups created in BG Blitz?

I just had a match where my entire team was below 1800 CR, and the enemy team was all above 2.1k—some even close to 2.4k. I get that it’s about MMR, but come on, be real… if one team is almost 2.4k and the other isn’t even 1800, who’s gonna win? Hmm? Take a wild guess.

This thread is a bit old, but I am fairly certain that it first creates team 1, then it creates team 2 and then it matches the teams. This is also the reason, why there were such huge differences in matchmaking in the start of S1, when one team could be 300-400 mmr higher than the other.

It is utterly dumb, is what it is. It is probably one of the worst feelings in the game to be the highest CR and MMR on your team, when it’s supposedly “balanced” - you get nothing if you win, and lose loads if you lose, because the game expected you to win.

There are too many variables in Blitz for it to actually work fairly with the above being true, it is truly awful and I can’t wait for mmr inflation to kick in.

Doesn’t really mean anything tbh. I’ve steamrolled people at 2.8k MMR when half of our team had 0 current rating.

The problem is when people look at it, and go “yeah, we’ve lost”.

Giving up before the game even starts is the problem.

I played with a freshly dinged full green that won 1 game and was placed at 2.5k MMR. That’s how broken the system is.

Proved that wrong a couple of times. Some people give up too easily.

I’ve noticed tonight on my BM, who has a 75% win rate at 12-4 in Blitz your MMV fluctuates like 200 per game?

The trouble I’ve had has been where the losses are, so my CR is only 1600 - The initial winstreak I had (6 games) did very little for mmv, then the loss seemed to get me all the way down to 1.2k MMV.

I’m hovering around 1.8k now, but it changes so much, and most of the time it’s just luck of the draw if you win or you lose.

The system seems to make more sense in Solo shuffle, where my 51% winrate after 90 rounds is 1693, the MMV seems much more stable there.

I dislike how much luck factors into it, makes it either a slog or easy if you’re just going for like, the transmog.

Can’t believe after all this time they’ve still done nothing about healer queue sync. Paid boosts to 1800 have become so efficient that they cost barely more than two WoW tokens now. PVP could be so much better if only they put a tiny bit of effort into better matchmaking.
