Worst healer at the moment but you can make it work if your dedicated.
They have one weakness - they die in stuns and with the current meta it’s hard to play around. Their output isn’t that bad but every full stun swap on you even without CDs popped is fighting for your life. Shattering Throw also takes off cocoon and Kyrian Warrior can hold you in one place.
It’s rough time for playing MW Monk.

I’d also add that the mobility class advantage that Monks once had has been reduced. Not removed just reduced.
Lastly, I suspect that against melee, Monks take the most amount of damage vs. all other healing classes. I’d like to see a calculation showing damage taken with mitigations with stats normalised (i.e. versa).
Well, their healing throughput is good but they rely on kiting to live.
Warrior Kyrian ability, rogue stunlocks and DK multigripping thing means that they cant really kite and just get curb stomped. Might be better when games slow down later on

Cold, hard truth: Worst healer in arena at the moment
As mentioned above, you can make it work if you’re dedicated and try hard, but you’d have an far easier time with any other healer.
A big part of the current meta is insane damage and killing people in stuns.
Monks can’t do a thing against dying in stuns. Cocoon doesn’t work if you’re stunned and unlike other classes you can’t use a “x% dmg reduction” in a stun.
You can buff yourself with “Renewing mist” and make sure your statue is channeling heals into you, but that barely scratches 1k hps if you have good gear and people are doing 30k burst in a 2-3 sec window – if not more.
MW monks had unrivalled mobility in the past, but through covenants people now have a bunch of ways to catch up from Venthyr teleport to Night Fae “not quite ghost wolf”.
sure because generally they have the lowest armor outside priests but they got a dmg reduction buff while monks doesn’t so yea monks take the most dmg out of all healers.
Even though most things are not phy. dmg anymore, but still some are.

glad viable but worst healer atm
All healers are glad viable in 3vs3, but right now a protection paladin is a better healer than a MW. In 2vs2 there are 0 MW gladiators.

Wait, you can earn gladiator in 2v2 now?
No you can’t get it in 2vs2. I listed people over 2400 rating which is the requirement for glad in 3vs3. You do get another title in 2vs2 as fasr as i rememer.

Ouch. The numbers says it all.
You’re dead weight no matter how you put it. In 2v2, it’s too difficult to carry dead weight past a certain point. Those 8 mw’s that got 2400+ in 3v3 at the moment are blessed with friends that spend most of the games winning a 2v3.
The survivability is the worst I’ve ever seen of any class in arena, which is part to thank to this absurd meta. Their throughput is terrible when not dead. If they somehow last long enough, they still have worse mana management than disc priests let alone other healers. The damage contribution (assuming they don’t just die in a global if they get close) is nonexistent.
There is absolutely no redeeming factor to the spec right now and against a plethora of comps you will die with absolutely no counterplay (think RMX for starters).
Well atleast they singlehandedly delete affly “shadowplay” combo from the arena.
147 dispells withouz actualy pressing dispel a single time for the entire game.
Thats atleast something i guess.
I -hardly- see how MW have fun actually, we are certainly not the best player but damn … that depressing .
Every stun that like he’s fighting for his life, can’t even use CC offensivly because everytimes he get Stun we have to help him immediatly or he flop .
If someone have good motivation speech for him, i take it.
