How are PVP realms Sharded

Hey,

are all PVP realms in the same shard or is it random once you are out in the world,
are the same realms always in the same shards?

It would be awesome if somebody could clear this up a bit or point me to a website,
I want to choose a realm where there are both factions.

Does this mean if go on a Horde-heavy realm, will I be in the same shard with Alliance Heavy Realms?

there is no pvp realms in retail and if you mean classic its best to ask on there forums

Warmode puts you mostly with your server and any linked servers you might be merged with for example alot of rp servers are smaller than argent dawn so for warmode theyre all smooshed together

But the sharding is still somewhat random

Iā€™m assuming you mean warmode.

There are some servers that tend to shard together more often than others, but I donā€™t know which ones, and it gets so mixed around and confused that there really is no reason to think about it.

I can pretty much guarantee to you that you will never run into the same player twice and realise you did, and that thereā€™s a good chance that even if you and your friend are in the exact same spot - if youā€™re not in a party, you wonā€™t see each other.

is there a website where I can see what realms are shared in WMODE?

Well on AD its mostly the same people, but its mostly empty as not so many turn wmode on, of the few that do turn it on,phase when losing.

Was pleasantly surprised when I joined a Kazzak party leader grp and it was full of horde and alliance duking it out :smiley: .

You default to your battlegroup / Connected realms, or some semblance of it, before more shards are added to tackle overcrowding [lul!]ā€¦ but faction balance be damned, you will in all likelihood be in a situation of one faction vastly outnumbering the other.

In my case, itā€™s literally ALWAYS 10 Alliance for every Horde, regardless of the time of day;

PS ā€“ ā€œPvP Realmsā€ no longer exist ever since War Mode became a thing.

It is completely random as far as i know .sometimes you will find more alliance and sometimes you will find more horde

As you are on Argent Dawn the usual WM on rules donā€™t apply. It is an RP realms. RP realms arenā€™t sharded unless absolutely necessary. This means that AD has the unique situation of being Alliance dominant because the bulk of that realm is Alliance.

Regular realms mix with any other WM on players. AD retains itā€™s RP origins.

The sharding of RP/PVP realms was the selling point for me.

It used to be that all RP/PVP realms were shared without AD. It was a good 50/50 ratio. You had the same names in WPVP, which gave a small sense of community, which is rare in Modern WOW.

With AD it was a huge influx of Alliance which led to RP/PVP guilds being disbanded,
but now Alliance is also becoming scarce:P which kinda sucks, I get most people donā€™t like wpvp that much as well.
