hey there! Maradan here. I left around when the whole lawsuit thing happened, but I was considering maybe rejoining for the RP. are the guilds the same, or are there new ones, how is the alliance and horde split these days RP wise? are the same people around? did new faces join?
Things are mostly the same, I think. The same guilds are still around and going strong. We were not hit by the end-of-expansion stasis.
Our Botanical friends have been missing for a while. I have reason to believe they are well, though, wherever they are.
I am a bit curious myself about how things are faring!
Like, if someone was to come and join the role-play, what kind of RP groups and content they’d find?
RP is mostly found in guilds! I recommend the Hand of the Titans, the Beastmaw Warband, the Convocation of Elrendar and the Night Gryphon.
The Hand is a neutral peacekeeping guild, very “saving people hunting things” vibe. The Warband is an oldschool Horde military-RP group. The Convocation is best elves. And the Night Gryphon is Alliance adventurers!
There’s also the odd (as in occasional / monthly) open event, such as the Drowned Rat tavern thing.
There used to be more, but it’s been (many) years since The Sha’glade Cartel was a “bustling” / “vibrant” realm cluster (outside of the aforementioned guild RP).
During Dragonflight, there was a multi-guild endeavor called “Aiding the Dragonscale Expedition”, which was a nice opportunity to get to know the guilds Linaria mentioned.
Perhaps in the newly discovered lands of the Earthen and the Arathi away from home, if a grave threat to Azeroth is revealed, such endeavors might reoccur…
I’ve read now on several post that walk-up RP is not a thing anymore. Why is that?
Are there many guilds that are active in their RP.
And how is it with doing Random Dungeons, BG’s and Raids?
It’s mostly because it’s rare to spot RPers in RP hubs, since there’s just not enough of us. Those who RP on the realm do so in guilds, and usually are busy doing events out in the wild. That said, whenever we’re not out doing stuff we tend to hang out at the embassies in Dornogal, so it’s possible to catch some social RP there–although you gotta get lucky and do so when we’re not busy with events.
Regarding active guilds, there are a couple! I listed a few in my post above.
As for LFG, we’re connected to the general pool of players, so it’s not an issue at all. There are a couple guilds that raid as well; I recommend Carpe Cerevisi!
