From autoinclude boring throughput talens added like temporal warp, shifting power or rune of power
To getting completly ignored since DF beta after providing countless feedback that the skb, mil and touch of magi playstyles are beyond flawed
Gives an 5% aura buff to fire and frost due to both being severly undertuned numerically which nerfs arcane
Then we waited for 6 months, tierset come out. Theyre unplayble bad. What happens? blizzard nerfes fire set, keeps arcane set bad and frost wont touch it because mil mage doesnt interact with new set

why? just because the mage dev has been afk since beta doesnt mean the game is ruined, can reroll to lock and do twice the dmg

Because why should they care about mages if you’ll keep throwing them your money on a different class. They probably love rerolls at this point, because some of those come with a race change.

if you’re not making tickets in game requesting a refund because of poor comms then you aren’t doing it right
From pvp pov;
Overall mage is decent and fun class to play (once you learn it), very rewarding for playing properly. One of few classes where you can hit for 180k and basically make a player disappear.
Arcane at start of the season was massive, after nerfs its not viable anymore - it requires tuning in 10.1 However I agree that rotation is clustered and doesn’t feel natural.
Frost I am really enjoying, a strong spec which is doing fairly good in current meta and is gonna be even better with 10.1 set / changes
Fire - there is no fire pvp wise at this moment. It’s kinda like arcane took its spot, I didn’t try fire this expansion and I seen maybe a single person doing this in rated

Yeah okay enjoy trying not to fall asleep pressing the same three button combo 1233 definitely mid spec that is due for a nerf because of scaling
Well, its hard to fall asleep in PvP, that could result in your character death :))
I think monks tried that, it resulted in being ignored harder, the loss of ur sub can be equalised with reduction to how many classes need balancing.
Tbh Mage isnt that bad, frost can put out competitive numbers, and fire is a high performer in rly high keys.
Problem is, Mage is stuck on a very punishing design, and. Design that a tank can absolutely screw simply by not pulling correctly.
It needs a rework, balance patchs wont fix the situation
Its not really a argument to make in a thread on mages balancing.
If mage gets the demanded rework, looking at shadow and Ret. Your basically going to get 2 more speccs at frost mage difficulty im afraid.
Blizzard have made their stance clear here that they feel speccs need to be easier then they currently are.
So in the end of this it pretty much is:
Stick with what mage is.
Get the needed changes at the cost of all 3 speccs pressing 1233

That’s obvious. Everybody is aware of that. Except Blizzard apparently.
What? Balancing classes doesn’t cost money so they are not going to save money by not balancing. The only thing that balancing needs is devs that understand their own game and from there it’s 5 minutes of work.
Reduction in time apent balancing = less man hours. Less man hours less employees. Less cost.
And they do. The problem isnt they dont understand their own game, the issue is their vision of the game is from a mindset of premades and not pugs.
Fires well designed from a premade PoV. It works extremely well and demands well the core mmorpg concept if working as a team the problems exist in pugs because theres no communication on such a level in them
Thats where a part of the audience and the devs butt heads realistically.
class likely wont receive the proper rework until 10.3 or 11.0, thats quite far away made this video about the subject but doubt we’ll receive anything besides an 5% aura buff or not getting nerfed out of spite.

I don’t see them punching in overtime for balancing. They wing that on the side after waiting for what the logs and statistics collect. If the work step you imagine existed as an actual effort, there wouldn’t be tuning after every race to WF. Balancing is planned and accounted for in regular hours and if there’s one class being ignored, it doesn’t stop a guy from having to check the statistics anyway for all the other classes.
I do not think Fire is well designed from any perspective. A skill tree that is unable to make Flame Strike do worthwhile damage even after sinking 4 points into it, is plain awfully designed.
Yet the entire design of the new talents was to change up rotations season to season easily, so its goong to make abilities bad to create the ability to do that.
I dont think fires bad design at all, i think its simply not friendly to pug enviorments
Which ofcourse is a issue, hence why i said it needs reworking. Even if they make flame strike good, it wont fix the underlying issues.
Im saying, if players cull themselves down to only playing a reduced pool of chars.
They can fire devs to make reductions to their team.
That’s conjecture. Companies with sense would eliminate the cause of what makes them fail. If they thought the best response to a problem was to make it worse, they would learn a lesson about economic darwinism.
Blizzard and sense
They abandoned monks after launch til SL when they did something about its continued issues with scaling.
Took em 6 years to notice people werent happy with paladin.
Mage still sits on upcoming 8 years of the same design thats been continously criticed.
I dont trust blizzard to have sense.
i am not going to pretend that i am a player with a history on wow. I was not playing on legion so i dont know how mages where back then but i did rly enjoy playing fire mage on SL season 1 and 2. I am not speaking about logs, dmg and meta i am speaking only about the play style and i did rly love the spec but on DF its so BAD , again not speaking about dmg (its bad here too).
I think, Fire mage have terrible ST target and playstyle is horrible. From my point of view.
Increase pyroblast, fireblast about at least 5%
Increase Flamestrike , Meteor, Living bomb 50% maybe even more
I’m sorry, I am pretty new on mage. Can someone elaborate what a MIL mage is?
