My question is simple, website https://check-pvp.com that is used for checking pvp ranking can somehow track what people’s alt are without any consent from players, how is this possible?
On other hand we have raider.io which only shows alts if you link your bnet account.
Why are you so concerned about people learning your alts? Disable 3rd party information sharing in your account’s privacy settings if it is so disturbing for you.
When I see people such as you it makes me suspicious of them.
I could not care less if you are suspicous of me or not.
But if you check blizzard’s API you need consent from player in order to get their character list, thats why im wondering how its possible for them to know which chars are on same account without it.
I have to agree that I dont understand how it gathers the data necessary to literally know what characters are on my account without me giving any consent at all
OP stop being rude if you have NO IDEA AT ALL WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT. You are clueless so be quiet.
The website is made for arena players and the way it gets the data is via PvP achievement data. Blizzard will never change this because this is simply how their PvP data works in the game so please keep crying. People like you who love hiding behind alts and characters don’t matter just like you are on an alt right now.
Yes, that info is obtainable after player gives “consent” by loging in to an application via Bnet 2oauth and explicitly enabling “wow profile” to be shared.
Are you honest to god trying to imply that people can retrieve a full character list using Blizzard’s API? If it is possible why is not every website doing this???
It is NOT possible and they are using PvP data which is why if you check up on anyone who never plays arena you will not find their characters. They are not doing anything wrong.
Yeah you are clueless as hell since you believe that a website is able to get a character list without consent but instead of wasting my time further how about you’ll just continue crying in this thread and continue accusing them while Blizzard ignores you because they know that the site is not doing anything wrong. So enjoy the whining about your lovely little “game privacy”.
Interesting - it found me and one of my alts. It said I have no pvp achievements when I have very many pvp achievements, just not rated ones. It also said, rather creepily, that 4 people have checked it.
I checked my main horde alt and that recognises the other 2 alts.
