If you’re on a new account then an achievment tracker doesn’t work… Never did.
There is nothing tying your old account to a new account. The only possibility is someone telling people about it.
I don’t know how they did it and I don’t care, but it has something to do with comparing the achievements or something weird.
Because some people are mean or are creeps so having it very easy for them to find out what alts you have can lead to unpleasant situations.
And before you say “just report them” it’s better for everyone to be able avoid a bad situation altogether. It’s less work for Blizzard and less irritating for players.
Yes character information belongs to Blizzard and not the players, but it is the players who have to deal with the consequences of that information being misused.

But that doesn’t work on a new account, because the new account doesn’t have the old accounts achievments. That only works for characters that are on the same account, not different accounts.

You can’t track people across accounts. The achievments and whatever else they track don’t match up across accounts, thus another account is not able to be tied to another account with the help of achievment tracking. If someone found out who you are on a new account, it’s because someone told them. Not because you were tracked across accounts with a 3rd party page, because that’s not possible and has never been.

Yes, I do. Just because you don’t like it doesn’t mean I’m wrong. It’s not possible to track someone across accounts. To track someone, you need the achievements and so on to match up. With different accounts, this doesn’t happen. So, they can’t track them.

They can’t even track characters on my account that have had character specific achievments turned on since it was implemented. They can only find them if I turn character specific achievments off. A brand new account? No way they could tie that account to me.

If you really want proof, send a ticket to blizz and ask them how it was possible. They will know, seeing as they broke the methods for doing it to stop it happening again.
