How can GDKP exist? its the source of RMT?

its stated that if you buy via RMT and get banned ANYTHING bought with the gold will be removed along with more , but is that true? if it was then how can GDKP even survive, if they bought from RMT and then won an item, the item would be removed because it was bought with real money??

GDKP isn’t the source of RMT; RMT existed in the oriignal game long before GDKP was a popular method of raid-loot distribution. Hell, GDKP was utterly unheard of back then.

And yes, if you buy gold then there is a good chance that your gold gets removed, the items you bought get removed and you suffer a temporary ban. Ergo: Don’t buy gold.

Brian said gdkp wasn’t an issue and that it happened back in the day, a mate told him.

Personally GDKP is far worse for the game than RDF, it actively encourages gold buying, pay-to-win and makes any sort of community based activity pointless.

Why go to length to build a community and raid when you can just buy what you want and log out?

GDKP stinks and should be banned.

It might not be the source of RMT but it sure as heck helps launder all that RMT gold…

i agree whole heartly

You can do better than that. Try again.

And how exactly would you ban GDKPs? Would you monitor every single little trade?

The only reason GDKPs didn’t exist in the past was because raid loot became soulbound when touched, so leaders couldn’t hold on to items and trade them for gold.

I’d be all for removing that restriction and forcing all “miss-loots” to be dealt with via understaffed GMs again.

there is a ton of people using RMT in wrath, far more than what people is admitting sadly, and many of them is part of GDKP

So? Did you buy gold cause of it? No? So your statement is wrong.

Pretty disingenuous, I mean lets ignore the fact that RMT is a bannable offense and thus something you would not bring up on the forums, How about instead we just talk about those million gold pot GKDPS, Or all those druids scouring Terrokar 24/7 without sending a single message and with 100% precision replicating their same farming path every time.

Could the reason that it still exists be that Blizzard employees runs GDKP’s themselves you think?

Because it’s fun. Crazy concept.

it encourages RMT from a vast amount of players who uses GDKP, the VAST VAST majority in such a raid will be buying gold for real money so how is this fun? your getting banned and you WILL lose the items you bought, it wil lbe taken out by a game master and not only did you lose the gold but ALSO the item

Just cause it doesn’t encourage some pple doesn’t mean it doesn’t encourage a lot of others this is a very bad try at defending gdkp’s lmfao

GDKP existed in original wotlk, atleast on my server anyway. The only difference is that you had to bid on items as they dropped.

I dont buy gold but i know for a fact that the vast majority of the time you can buy gold and buy items with gold and not get banned for it.

Yeah buying gold for real money waspretty much was instant I think.

I played the original COD /UO on pc millions of years ago when wow first came out and clan members who where just starting to play wow where buying it to get started.

I heard from someone who said they had a friend who ran alot of bots that they got contacted by blizz to pay extra to remain on the realm or be removed…hearsay perhaps…hmmmmmm

Because raiding for 2 months and not getting a single item because of either losing all the rolls or a corrupt LC sucks.
I couldn’t give two damns about my community if I’m not getting rewarded for playing. Raids aren’t fun for some people, crazy right?

I think a real money realm would have make blizz a decent amount of cash if they thought of it earlier, you can just do it in game now, but having a dedicated realm to it with a blizz shop this would have appealed to some, its just money after all.

Have you seen those collector mounts in wotlk? People bought them with real money! its bones strapped together like a kite made by a lazy peon. People even bought those things :scream_cat:

i had a friend on the Europa server who quit his irl job to trade full time on Ultima, and this was 1999 ! BrianHood was his name.

I’ve bought gold and got banned once. They didn’t take any of the gold nor the items I’d puchased. Just a 14 day ban. I didn’t mind the break tbh.

I just wish I could buy the wow token.

Yeah i’d rather not have a wow token.
