How can I earn gold?

There is a very interesting end game of wow that is shrouded with secrets- trading.
There are people who are so wealthy, they monopolize and manipulate the auction house. They even loan gold to world first guilds.

Anyway…

What you need to do is invest.
Research for auction house trends, buy low and sell high.

OR

you can just use your female night elf character, remove all clothes (or wear very suggestive stuff) and dance in goldshire after sunset in Argent Dawn.

I will indeed! I created a new undead, Alayria, on Draenor so when she reaches level 10 I’ll do that  x

looking forward to it :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

find part time job (MacDonalds), make couple bucks, buy token, sell token, get gold.

Disgusting how normalized token buying has become.

It is naive not to see that the game is more and more designed to funnel people into tokens, from professions no longer being as reliable to as many players as before to the elimination of emissary-type quests and world quests only resetting twice a week, DF has been the definitive Token expansion.

Defend the practice! “It is how I like to play, why do you care?”

Er… did you miss the part where you quickly make [at least] 25-30k gold from just doing the gold WQs per week per character?

No I did not miss it. I read all the comments, thank you.

If you did not understand, I commented on how normalized token buying has become and drew attention to how the game is more and more developed with that practice in mind.

Developed around how so? The game throws gold at you… the Token’s been around for almost a decade.

I’ve made plenty of gold to cap out €250 on Battle.net balance from converting them gold bought tokens into credit. Never bought a €20 token for gold. Been using it for my subs plus whatever online store cosmetics and game. :person_shrugging:

Just comparing DF to recent expansions, you have to play multiple times the amount you played before if you want to make the same amount of gold.

Doing the same world quests on different characters is something people have always done, but now it is necessary to make do with how expensive consumables are.

The amount of times people just casually say “brb need to buy a few tokens” or something similar on voice chat is also up the roof. That is just anecdotal evidence so I am fine with it being disregarded, I am just hoping the game is not doubling down on these predatory practices.

So far on the beta, when I look at the Warband system and professions being even more expensive to engage in, I am not convinced. But, you know, two months to go.

This topic is quite a difficult one too, because a lot of players still feel ashamed for buying tokens, which at this point in the game I feel they should not feel.

The removal of emissary-type daily quests and the changing of world quest lockout hurt casual solo players the most. They have also adjusted gold rewards mid-expansion this time (even from the last hurrah quest for example) so clearly they are more proactive with regard to gold sources.

I do not have a gold problem either (wink wink garrison) but I know a lot of players who never had a problem before DF. They bought game time with token each month, but now they struggle. And because of economic situation here, just buying a token is out of the question.

I find myself making more gold from DF’s WQs than I was in prior expansions’ Emissaries.

As mentioned above, never haf problems with gold to buy consumables.

Literally NEVER seen anyone say this. But like you said, anecdotal… probably the people you hang out with that are too lazy to make gold? :person_shrugging:

Repeating myself, above.

I got two characters I play; this and my paladin that I don’t bother doing M+ or raids with. The two of them easily makes me 60-70k per week just off WQs and vendor trash.

If you did world quests every day in Shadowlands, plus 7 emissaries, you made a lot more than you make now with DF world quests. Weekly.

That cannot be debated.
If you say DF throws gold at you, then the strength of the hand that is throwing is weaker than it was in SL (and BfA, Legion, WoD)

Besides the point, 60-70k / week is still a lot for an hour+ of “effort”… yet people say they struggle to make gold which is beyond preposterous.

I think they might struggle to keep up with paying for gametime with gold which has never been an issue for them until DF.

Then they better start learning the AH because I easily make 100k from a single AH night.

Many of them do not have the time nor the knowledge to do that. If you have played the game a certain way for 10 years, and gotten older in the process, it is a downer to not be able to do it the same way…

Changing the world quest lockout system in response to a vocal whining “I am forced to do them” OCD minority was a mistake. Blizzard should not cater to mental illness.

Curious, what do you mean by this?

World quests used to reset daily, except for some elite ones that reset twice a week and the epic ones that reset weekly.

Because SL burned so many people out and the anti-chore crowd was so vocal about every little thing they might feel like they HAVE to do, Reddit and these forums aggressively demanded, after DF was released, that world quest availability be greatly limited…

Unbelievable for me. I guess the generational shift among the player base is indeed taking place. Mind you, there were players, some of them playing the game because of questing only, saying that just because the icon is on the map does not mean you have to complete it, but in the fervour of discussion, the aggressive OCD-types got what they wanted and pretty much forced their way of seeing how the game should be played onto others.

Congratulations to them I guess.

I’m honestly fine with the current setup, somewhat, with there being two sets of WQs per week reseting on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

The WQs that only last a day is for Blizzard to have people logging in daily. At least there’s no longer the awful 4-12 hour WQs where they tuned rep gains with them in mind.

You do not have to do them every day if they are available every day.

I have currently 5-6 chars with a vault. 3 of them have 3 options and 2 of those probably will not get an item from the vault. Those chars get 6 tokens which will sell for 1000 gold each. With only those 2 chars i already make 12k gold by just opening the vault on wednesday.
