I completed Shadowlands a long while back, and when I took a break from WoW, my character was doing Bastion quests.
A friend has just returned to WoW after a long break. She did not buy (and therefore do) Shadowlands, but she has just purchased the Dragonflight expansion and is levelling up her character via the Shadowlands time-travel option.
How can we group up so that we can play together while she levels
up in Shadowlands? So far nothing we have tried has worked.
Thank you for any help
It should just be a case of form a party and go to the same place.
Make sure you’re both either warmode on, or warmode off, else you won’t see each other. Failing that, you may need the party sync feature.
…that said…
Why are you punishing your friend by making her level through Shadowlands? I wouldn’t do that to anyone if I wanted them to actually make it to level 60!
ATM, level 60 is nothing more than a curse. You can’t do SL dungeons, you can’t join Chromie time.
It shouldn’t be like that.
Oof, I didn’t know that
Sorry OP, looks like it’s basically bugged.
…or a hint that we should all try to forget Shadowlands. Let the dead rest.
Agreed let the dead rest.
Thank you for your answer.
We have tried forming a party and going to the same place, but it doesn’t work. (Strangely, it DID work when we began together in Legion, which she wanted to see, but then she wanted to switch to Shadowlands (to see that) and it doesn’t work)
Given the discussions above, I think it’s just currently in a bugged state right now.
Which is sad, but also, Shadowlands campaign was abominably obnoxious. Personally I’d rather level literally anywhere else than plough through Maldraxxus and Revendreth again. 9.0 nearly made me into a one-character player!
Because they’re in chromie time and you’re not, most likely.
Some questions.
- Do you show as phased to each other? When you’re in a party, does her nameplate have a small bubble/circle on it? There have always been phasing problems in The Maw. Where exactly in Shadowlands have you tried?
- I presume you can see each other in Orgrommar. Can you see each other in Oribos?
- Just checking: is she on a Horde character?
I agree with everyone, btw, that Shadowlands is the worst place to level.
Use the party sync feature
Let your friend leave chromie time, invite you and turn on party sync
apologies if i missed something, it is not a feature i use often but i believe it was created for such scenarios to allow you to group up and redo quests with friends (including quests that you already completed).
check this:
Edit:
I’ve been reading that they can invite you into Chromie time aswell using Party sync
so it’s worth checking it out.
Thank you! Very useful!
