How can Proffs and Crafting Orders be so wrong

Levelling Up
Same issue as most people with Enchanting.
Bad decision at the start and now I’m pretty much bricked.
I’m 80/100 Enchanting and specced into Insight of the Blue and Rods, Runes, Ruses.
I can’t even spec into Enchantment to make the Devotion Enchants even if I had all the gold in the world (which I don’t).

I thought I’d try again on an alt. I followed a guide, collected all the possible knowledge points I could and spent hours flying around for anymore I might find in treasures etc…

I’m up to 57/100, and, between having to sink considerable amounts of gold (that I don’t have) into Enchanting to max it out, not being guaranteed to make a profit (let a lone make back all the gold I’ve spent) and the new Crafting Order System, I can’t bring myself to go any further. I’m done.

Crafting Orders
I needed to make writ weapon enchants to level up (and rank 3 if I don’t want to loose gold).
To give myself the best chance I went to the crafting orders to get some gear. I bought rank 3 mats (which were pretty expensive too) and put in the order.
Item comes back, no where near max rank and now I have to spend more gold to recraft it, because someone else wasn’t good enough. Not only that, I now have to spend all my time spamming trade chat because I can’t list it as anything other than a personal request?
I put a 15k enchant on the item without realising too and I guess I’m going to lose that as well.

Apart from item quality, the new profession system actually seems pretty cool and I want to use it. But Blizz have made it so unfriendly it’s left a real bad taste and the same old thoughts and questions about Blizzard’s philosophy.

I don’t actually think any of this is accidental. Game companies are known for hiring more and more psychologists. Every time I come back to retail, I’m left thinking: they’ve done this so you buy a Token… Everything seems centred around that Token.
I can play for 12hours+ and make very little gold doing things I enjoy. Dungeons, Raids, PvP etc… In fact I no doubt spend more gold than I make. So how am I supposed to have the millions needed to level it to max? Oh yeah, buy a token.
Professions are supposed to be like an in game job. Do some work get paid.
Who wants to go to work and lose money?

Some of you will say go farm something else or do something else. But I’m talking about professions in a game that I’m supposed to be enjoying. Not doing mindless tasks I don’t enjoy so that I can do the things I do enjoy. This is a game not IRL. I do mindless tasks at work, I play games for fun.

Side note.
There’s a reason Final Fantasy removed item quality from their game. Blizz should have seen that. The work was already done for them. I’m not sure why they think it’s a good idea to implement it.

The whole mentally behind retail really does leave a sour taste.
Just put mythic+ in classic and I’ll take myself back there.

Oh while I’m here… Why does everything have to be sooo politically correct. Blizzard are pussyfooting around the higher ups so much it’s unreal. The whole story’s written like it’s for a children’s cartoon. I keep thinking back to some of the interviews with people that work there. Most of them are like some weird uncle that think’s they’re ‘down with the kids.’ People with degrees and paperwork but no real passion or understanding.

‘Oh Fortnite has backpacks. Kids like Fortnite. Kids like the backpacks in Fortnite. Let’s put backpacks in our game.’ I’m 99.99% sure that was a real conversation in some board room with some out of touch weirdos discussing how to make more money from the players. That’s my whole feel about the design of retail. Sooo out of touch.

I think I’m done ranting.
Happy New Year everyone.

Dont get why people belive that if they reach 100/100 skill in proffesion sudenly it will do 180 U-turn in terms of profits

From reading your post i get that majority of your problems come from lack of understanding of that system and how it works, and learning about it woud probably take les time then it took you to make this post

Personaly i making more gold and have more enjoyment in doing proffesion then ever in this game since TBC, simple from understanding how this system works and using it

Only think that is bad about this system is that main advertisment of your proffesion witch is Trade Chat simple sux, and need revork for that, other then that Proffesions are better then ever

Having one chance at a brand new system doesn’t feel good at all.
You can’t surely think it’s a good idea to implement a brand new system and only give players 1 chance to understand it?

The 100/100 isn’t only about being able to make a profit. (I would have another 20+ skill ontop of what I have now. More Recipes, so more knowledge from first time crafts. I’d have a lot better chance at creating higher quality items or hitting thresholds than i do now. And, even with 100 skill I’m pretty sure I don’t have the gold to invest to gamble against the RNG of a Q3 item).
But the only Enchants I can make to level up to 100 are stuck in that branch of specialisation, which I can’t unlock until I hit 100.
The only other option is to spend hours farming the primal storms and hope I get lucky with a recipe drop. That will also cost me 100s of thousands if not millions to level up.

Even after understanding the system and retrying on my alt. I can’t make a profit to get the gold needed to level it up.

The whole system of Crafting Orders is really poor. I understand they can’t make public orders have quality requirement requests on them or everyone would just ask for the highest possible. But spending a lot of gold and having an item crafted at low quality, then having to spend more gold and find a specific person to upgrade it is just bad. It highlights why Item quality is a bad idea.
Especially when Q3 materials are needed for Q3 crafts.
Maybe if you could spec into crafting Q3 crafts with Q2 materials it would solve some problems but I dunno… I really feel item quality is a bad idea. Like I said, there’s a reason FF got rid of it.

once agen from reading you post i get that you got wrong idea how system works, how you get higher quality or how to use order system, and becouse of that you wasting tons of money in proces

Personaly i dont realy care to much i offten do crafts fore people who got similar to you wrong idea on this system and they mistakes only make me more gold

Oh you’re one of those…
Never mind then mate, I don’t converse with your kind, sorry.
Have a good day.

have just about every crafting profession on main and alts but afther 2 weeks in to DF i realized very quick im not goin to lvl any up, to expensive to begin whit just farming mats to sell, easy to do and very rewarding.

I sank 4.8 million gold into Enchanting on the first day of the expansion and broke even.

I then spent the next 2/3 weeks not doing anything with Enchanting. I had specced into Weapon Enchants, but there were always people producing higher quality enchants than me.

I made a mistake when I popped 15 points into a tree to see what it does, and then closed the window which only ended up committing those points.

That this point, I worked hard, I looked at what I had and what I could do, and where I would spend my next set of points.

I eventually broke a profit this week. A BIG profit. 6.5 million on Reset day, and easily topped that up to over 10 million over the course of the week.

It took alot of hard work, and alot of patience to get there.

However, the professions really shouldn’t be this extreme in nature. Why should 1 person make so much gold, and another who is interested in something different make so little?

My alts Inscription is completely Tanked. I have no way over levelling up over 70. I specced into Missives and then Fauna Runes. I expected that speccing into Fauna Runes would increased the Quality of them? Nope, that’s not what it’s for at all. Maybe I should have read into it a little more. But still putting talents into something should at least feel like it has an affect on skill you are talenting.
