Back in the Late TBC/WotLK/Cata era, I was a fanatic player who was in an active guild and doing a lot of raiding. But due to changes in private live (wife/kid) I now only play casually, only using the LFG/LFR and doing the world quest, all the easy stuff.
Back in the day, there was some boosting in raids, but not as many as I see now in form of messages in the trade chats.
The messages are like “Selling kills of latest bosses in latest raid on mythic difficulty for 600K gold going every half hour” and “selling ahead of the curve achievements of latest raid for 400k gold going every half hour”. And then I start to wonder: how can they do runs every half hour. Now, I do understand they probably don’t do this for 24/7 but I saw a youtube video today where a WoW player shared he was attending in 9 boosts a day.
Now, I am assuming the raid lock outs are still a week long. This should mean that player should have 63 characters all geared enough to be able to do the latest raids. Also, I have no idea how much time a Mythic Aberrus takes, but if this would take an hour, that player (and 18 other players) would spend 63 hours a week to boost other characers. But, according to the youtube video, it seems they can earn 2000 dollars or euros per day with it, so I understand their motivation.
And the reason people would buy boosts, I can understand as well if they really want an item the fastest way possible. I only wonder what if the item doesn’t drop. Do they get a free retry the next week?
My question is, do those players really have 60+ characters that can clear Aberrus on Mythic or has there been some sort of change or trick that makes players possible to do the Mythic raids more than 1 time a week on the same character?
By the way: I am not interested in buying those boosts nor do I judge people who do. I am simply curious for who these boosts can be done in a technical way.
