whats worse.
demology doesnt even get much changes in shadowlands.
also thank you

They get the 6 second cast time on summons, so that should be fun

As for Warlock in wpvp… I would assume they would benefit here because there’s no pillars for people to hump. They can just activate turret mode and blast people down without having to chase them.
If you’re destro, I believe you can use havoc on a mob then cast mortal coil for double the heal giving you a phat 40% heal. Then you’ve got healthstones, damage resistance defensives, fears, drain life, chaos bolts (I put this under defensive because when people see it being cast with no kick available they will run for the hills), Demon Skin. Like, there’s plenty of ways to survive and still be able to stand in one spot.
On a personal note, I do prefer Demonology even though it’s technically not as strong as Destro. You have a few insta casts available, and less experienced players generally get overwhelmed when there’s an army of demons throwing green crap at them.

simple answer.

destruction can be rekful when they are behind cover or have time to avoid attacks but if you are face to face with warlock, its like using a steamroller on a pile of marshmallows.

i checked.
there is like 6 destro warlocks in top 50.
while there is 13 monks.
Monks atm are the most dominant class overall while warlock is hand carried by destruction, why? because blizzard does sh*t job with spec management.

Except monks are getting carried by the healer spec in these charts. Don’t compare yourself to a hybrid class with two roles.

Check streamer soulscape world pvp aff lock. You can see how good they can be

Will lvl void elf lock!

there was 7 dps monks and 6 healer monks in top 50. what are you smoking…

i got one person today who linked me that person with the affliciton lock.
using mountains and portals to try to escape situations and using kite and void elf portal.

Well its actually good answer how good locks can be

it kinda is but not every person can become a skillful void elf lock that camps at mountains.

Top50 is a bit of a small data sample, to be fair. Better to look at something like 2100+ rating or simply on the entire 3vs3 ladder.

ok.
Warlock overall is 12.0% (1199)¨
MONK overall is 13.8% (1378)

Warlock is 96,2% destruction and 3,8% affliction or demology.
while monk is literally
57,4% heal and 42,6% damage.

i sh*t you not.

You’re combining the numbers of heal monks and dps monks into one. You shouldn’t really do that in a comparison like this. Dps monk and healer monk are different. It’s like you counted warlocks and mages together because they’re both clothie casters. Neither of the specs outnumber warlocks on their own, and they only come close when you combine DPS and heal together.

But, since I’m derailing the thread… gear is your issue here in world pvp. You’re 450 and the difference between 450 and 470 is huuuuge. You’d struggle at 450 as most classes, even those OP, unkillable melee. Once you gear up, warlock does crazy damage and is really tanky. You’d be able to kill people in short CC before they can escape and you won’t die in a stun.

i have no argue againts getting loot and better gear.
but i do have some words about it.
Its yet again, really slow and succeeding at mythic + is basically take it or leave it. and if you get same dungeon key, you cant do much, if somebody leaves, you loose the key.
There is wait times with tanks and healers (and i swear if anybody mentions about guilds, my head will pop)

I have tried my best to gain points, gainig level ups to cape and better azerite power but its really sufferable.
i can see how some may enjoy grinding samethings over and over again, but somebody enjoying something doesnt mean that everybody else must enjoy it too, that is also rng.

Yeah, I get it. You don’t particularly want to grind all of the PvE stuff (which frankly is really intimidating and I wouldn’t ever bother doing it on an alt this patch) to be able to PvP. It’s a mindset shared by maaaaaaaaaaany rated PvPers. Thing is, the grind is more or less a must to be able to do much in PvP. It’s not a warlock issue, every class goes through the same thing. If you’re heavily undergeared and try to base a class’ strength/weakness on your experience, then that opinion doesn’t really indicate the spec’s true state. You’re doing too little damage and die too fast, so obviously you’ll feel underpowered and it’s not warlock’s fault.

Just to paint a clearer picture for you… last season, I tried to duel the same fury warrior on two different mages, one of them was 430 and the other was 445. The difference here is smaller than it is between your 450 and a fully optimised 470, but still… on one mage I could roll over that warrior no matter how many mistakes I made, on the other I couldn’t land a kill on him despite doing a perfect setup because I lacked the damage.

gear level does matter yes.
but its kinda hard to gear up when you been awarded 420-445 gear constantly and not gear from higher levels.
like i dont care if it is green or blue 470il gear, i just want 470il gear.
Because most higher level gear are mostly epic(purple) gear for obvious reasons because raids and mythic +.
But blizzard isnt just (oh, lets up the gear level every 10il levels or so), you can be 410il and get 470il gear by being carried.
So you dont have many quests for higher il gear, not even green for that matter.
its all about grinding your life away with the same mechanics constantly, day by day.
