It’s only day 2, and we all need gear. How can people justify leaving a +6 key just because of a single small pull where they die? I know that Blizzard has been taking this issue more seriously lately, but what can we do to help them track down these kinds of players? The key was perfectly timeable and even a good group.
This Death Knight from Kazzak, what can I do to report him? I’m sure this is something he does in every key he gets invited to.
No offense to any player, but Kazzak is a problematic server, I am sure not everyone, but many people I joined keys with are rude and do stuff like that.
That said, did he say something in the run? I believe you can right click + report player no?
Or the ticket system has a nice AI generated option for you.
I recommend to join a community, look for NOP (NO Pressure) - EU!
Simply right click the player’s names either in chat, or in your raid frame (if he left the key before leaving the party) and report them for obstructive game play (Or whatever the option is called)
I dont know if wow has this option but in other games there is an option called gameplay sabotage so something similar to it in options should probably be chosen while filing the report
To be honest Blizzard almost certainly won’t act from one report of leaving, so real emergencies are unlikely to cause an issue.
However things like this are why I suggested applying deserter to M+ groups instead of bans. If a person has to leave for an example like yours above, they’ll be gone a lot longer than an hour, and can play when they return. However waiting an hour is a disincentive to leave groups as you can’t just rejoin another.
The “proper” reaction is indeed to report for obstructive gameplay as Richardhuntr said. If it was an emergency it will not be often, and therefore there will not be any penalty applied since it was not malicious. If, on the other hand, the reported player is abandoning lots of keys, then there needs to be a way to prevent them from abandoning even more and therfore sabotaging the enjoyment of other players, regardless if it’s again an emergency or not.
Don’t forget, it’s repeat offenders that get punished, not 1 or 2 leaves per 50 keys.
Just do it the same way you report players who don’t sustain 3.5M dps and misses 1/10 kicks.
People leave keys because they can tell the group is in over their heads, and the odds of completing the key are absurdingly low, and that it’ll be endlessly frustrating having to carry people through the key. People aren’t leaving a key for a “minor death”, there’s more to it.
If it’s a griefer, there’s already systems in place to punish them.
If a group is bad then leaving is a valid option. This shouldn’t be punished.
In fact the only action blizzard has taken recently has been against people who intentionally join groups to leave them as soon as the key starts and then rinse and repeat this behaviour. This is obviously toxic towards any group and is done with the intent of being toxic.
They’ve given no indication of wanting to punish players who leave a group because they no longer wish to play with that group. Which seems an entirely reasonable stance to take.
