How did you feel when you watched Wrath of the Lich king cinematic for the first time

It is not normal at all, you need help :dracthyr_nod:

Yet, when the first time I saw it, it made me all kinds of hype. As back then Arthas was a character worth killing. Had I known what Arthas was to really be after the shadowlands though… Yeah, it is still an awesome cinematic - just the character assassination has hit my enjoyment of it hard.

Despite the extremely outdated graphics, it’s this moment I truly remember from WOTLK:

Lineage 2

i was obviously huge fan of warcraft 3 back than but havent started wow until late wod
for me it was cool but watever i was having a blast in l2

Ofc it normal dude.
I don’t do it every month. But every now and then its good to chill listening to Wotlk zone music. All the good times i had.
And bittersweet. Cos you had all these people on your friendlist who you spoke to everyday. Then little by little they disappeared.

It was great but it’s not something I’d want to rewatch as often as you

First time i thought “thats it?”…felt kinda boring. I didnt understand nothing in it except that it was Arthas…now when i got older and actualy understood what was said and learn about the lore i think its propably the coolest cinematic ever made for a video game…challenged only by D4 cinematic…but thats just imo.

The wotlk trailer is what made me decide to pick up wow and i still watch it now and again and still get the same type of chills.

I was quite happy because it felt like a direct sequel to the ending of the Frozen throne expansion.

This had a lot to do with the success of this expansion. It was the expansion that gave closure for the WC3 players

I mean… Normal as in ‘the average person does this too’? No, definitely not.
But if you enjoy watching something; hey, that’s completely fine.
I still watch movies from the 1980’s regularly because I love watching them again.

As for how I felt; I honestly can’t really remember. I was excited for the expansion for sure; I hated TBC and couldn’t wait to move on from it. Arthas was definitely the most interesting villain up until that time for me.

I had mixed feelings.

It’s one of the best game trailers ever written. There’s no doubt about that. I wanted a Warcraft 4, and I thought it would have been perfect for that.

But for WoW I wanted focus on us, like the first two cinematics have.

But now the dream of Warcraft 4 is dead. It died with BfA when Blizzard literally wrote the 4th war as a book, the idiots. Now it’s just a good cinematic and a symbol of a dream long dead.

I think it’s one of the best cinematics I’ve ever seen in a game - regardless of genre.

Having the whole thing narrated by Terenas, speaking to his younger son was pure brilliance. Especially when you know the tragic story.
I still get goosebumps watching that cinematic - especially during “I tell you this, because when my days have come to an end you… shall be king!”
