I really want to unlock the elite plate pvp set. I’ve reached 1400 rating, so that’s 3 out of 9 pieces unlocked. But I can’t for the love of me not even reach 1500! I really wonder how I’m supposed to reach 1800. I saw people get the set in 1 or 2 days. I’ve read up on tactics, talents, addons, and gotten the pvp trinket set.
How did you reach 1800? With friends or random people? None of my friends play WoW. I’ve tried playing with lots of players from the group finder, but many of them are terrible and lie about their rating. Am I more likely to reach 1800 as retri or holy? 2vs2 or 3vs3? What specs should my partners be?
Find a team who want to play and continue plaing, 1,8k is rating you can force just by playing a lot but is hard with randoms, plaing with randoms from group finder only works if you are very good and very lucky and play meta class
I play with communities and my guild.
I don’t play Alliance so I can’t really offer you any, but you could check the community finder and the Looking For section of the forum.
I healed a Balance Druid and a Retribution paladin.
My ret used BOP on the druid during the opener against melee cleaves, and I used grounding against caster comps.
That way, nobody could ever interrupt convoke the spirits.
Honestly buy a pvp boost. That is the fastes way and easy. i bet like 60-80% of 1800+ players are boosted.
PVP gear locked behide raiting is rly bad design for the game and promotes boosting a lot.
PVP raiting should bring titels trasmogs etc and makes pvp gear cost less honor.
It makes no sense that if you are super good you get better gear to defeat less skilled players even faster and easier
Alot of class cheesing has went on since launch too. Rogues on the first week was a meme, Ret is pretty stupid still too and so are the druid convoke spells. Saw some youtuber cheesing double fire mage at 2200 too because they both just combust and global someone. If i were you id play ret and find a disc priest, super easy comp to cheese
Easier 2v2 comp now is holy pal ww monk not eaven require skill with that much def cds togather plis monks insane. Owerall ddamage mortal strike effekt you can own the arena with 1 hand.
Yeah not really man. You can be a good healer but if you play with a bad monk you are not getting anywhere. I would put my money on a good geared DH or Feral for 2v2. Play short stun and try to wreck healers starting with your hoj.
But my advice would be to find someone to push to 1600 with. Stuck with that guy on 1600? Find someone else and push to 1700. Rinse and repeat.
Keep in mind that 1800 atm is more like 2000 usualy. The mmr still has to settle a bit.
it aint fps game it it rpg game wich means grinding more should bring more rewards simple as that… arenas are boring fps feature rpg pvp should be large scale battles or open world pvp wich non of those reward raiting in wow hence again rly bad design. and i am talking about pvp gear not pve
Hey! I got 1800 this season playing with a frost DK friend on pally. If you wanna play holy paladin to try and achieve it, I’d give these pointers out (if you’re doing 2v2s):
Make sure you sync stuns / cc so you can meaningfully lock down the enemy team. Otherwise use the CC defensively to try and stay alive, if it’s a requirement so you don’t lose.
Don’t waste or overlap defensives as this will cost you later on in the game when you may have needed them to stay alive.
Play with a DPS that is really good right now, such as an arms warrior or windwalker monk. That way you will achieve the most success. Also find out how these work defensively so you know when you have to use a defensive. Not a requirement, but it can improve your chances of winning considerably. I played with a frost DK and I needed a lot of coordination to even help them do damage in the first place. (DKs are somewhat undertuned rn I feel)
Lastly, make sure your positioning is right! Always be near a pillar if you’re playing against a comp where you need to line CC. Think of it as if you’re a gravitating orb and you need to orbit, much like planets. You ideally don’t want to crash with any other orbs so to speak unless it gets you the win.
If you’re already doing all of these things then I suppose you’re doing well and it’s not a you thing that you’re at 1400! You will get there, I’m sure.
Also, the more you play, the more you will improve. Awareness is important, knowing what the enemy is going to do is a huge part of PvP! That way you can counter it in some way or form. Don’t take it hard on yourself if this is the first time you’re PvPing, you will learn and get better.
Hope this helps! I know they’re general terms and vague ideas but they’re things I wish I was told when I just started playing PvP! I’d also recommend finding a partner to play with that doesn’t quit after 1 match. Those that last you can build synnergy with and that helps, a lot.
