Hi. On my battle.net launcher the option in drop down menu only shows my accounts, it doesn’t show a classic option. I downloaded the new game client BFA but that did not make a difference.
Do I need to subscribe to download the client?

You do need an active World of Warcraft account, to access and play Classic.

I was under the impression that you can download the WOW game client without an active subscription?
I will subscribe before Classic launches on Monday, but just trying to download the game now.

If you open the browser and click the version just above the big blue play button you can select wow classic and update it from there. You can use this version to select between retail and classic.
Once done you can then either click play to enter the game and buy a wow game time token from gold on your characters for a month or resub to the game.

Yeah, I needed to update my Battlenet, CLassic wasn’t showing as my battlenet launcher hadn’t been updated in a couple of years. Got it now. Thanks.
