How do I get GS 4k without Raiding

til you gearup in nax10/os10/eoe10, op said he’s not invited into nax25?

OP said they’re not invited because most PuGs upped their requirements for gear. That’s depsite OP already clearing Naxx25 which means it’s likely their luck with gear was just bad.

Leaders tend to put the GS requirement around the same treshhold as themself.

The fact that most PUGs have a high GS requirement is simply because players who tend to lead PUGs are also players who usually play the game ALOT to get good gear (and also sometimes reserves the loot they want).

EDIT: I’m not saying I like this GS craze. On the contrary. I hate it with a passion because a lot of the best prebis DW unholy gear (and current BiS) is very low on gearscore and people seem to not understand that.

Step 1 - Uninstall the addon
Step 2 - Do heroics, farm rep, farm badges, craft items
Step 3 - Roflstomp the raids because they are extremely easy

join a guild or make your own raid. a loooooot of pug tanks are around 3.9k GS right now and every 25 naxx only needs 3 tanks. either you can keep trying your luck in applying to other peoples raids or go out of your comfort zone and actually make your own raid.

the only person holding you back from getting 4k GS is yourself

All this cry for RDF and Gatekeeping in raiding is always ONLY from people who think this is a single player game like retail is. This game was developed in a time where u usually would raid in your Guild or with a set group and not pug everything. So GS/Ilvl wasnt usually a concern since a Guild usually doesnt screw you over for having a bit lower ilvl … but in today day and age not even that is true since like 80% of guilds are sweaty log junkies

You’re probably looking to join the wrong raid. 3.5k gs should be more than enough for any content currently in the game, so don’t think too hard about that particular raid group and their sweaty Optimal Otto raidleader. I’ve healed less geared tanks in Naxx and it was piss easy.

Yea, i misread it?
Its not how the game works. Its how stupid some ppl are. GS tells you what lvl gear you have, not what kind of gear.

Ran a pug this week with 2 green geared people who got the undying achiev. It was all fine. But people gatekeeping it like its mythic retail raid.

you can call those who compete on logs sweaty if that makes you feel better, for some of us its better to sweat on competition than sweat from not being able to kill a boss because half of group is undergeared

To answer your question: Arena

No boss in Naxx requires gear except maybe patchy

Tell him you are there for gear and not to carry raidleader. And 4k GS req is just a big retardo stamp in the forehead of RL

What does undergeared mean? Because so far it seems to imply that for many to clear Naxx25 now you NEED Naxx25 gear in order to match perceived GS/Ilvl.

Or they are 2600GS changing their SR all the time because it dident drop

dw I was ina sweaty guild since Classic and I had to stop raiding cuz I couldnt afford the consumables anymore cuz I had a job. If U want to hardfarm your consums 4h a day just so u can raid 1 evening or get told just go Buy gold … by all means have fun with it. I clear all content I go into sometimes it takes 1 ID longer but you know I am “casual” kek

Topic title is: “How do I get GS 4k without Raiding”

The answer to that specific question is:
Buy BoE raids pieces from the AH and attend Wintergrasps and Battlegrounds to buy PvP pieces which usually have very high gearscore. Of course PvP pieces are useless but nobody says you need to have it during encounters, you can use it only for gearscore check but raid with your usual PvE gear. I do it everytime and works like a charm, most leaders requiring GS are imprecise (read dumb) enough to check your GS but not your actual gear.

GS is mostly a shallow measurement in my opinion. People demanding a certain GS and just look at that number are missing the point. I’ve seen people with lower gear perform better than decked out players.

I feel that history is repeating itself just for the sake of it. In retail Ilvl means only half (if even that) of your performance. Especially with GDKP’s being so normal nowadays just looking at gear is madness.

Just go with a guild. Getting to 4k without raiding is virtually impossible. I’m half equipped in 213 bis raid items and 200 pre raid bis gear and I don’t even have 4k yet.

Yep, highest dude ive seen in guild is 3940

There are a few. If I buy my raiding- badge shoulders in a day or two I’m guessing I’ll be +4k GS as well, but it means nothing imo. I prefer to share logs.

GS is stupid in a way that it doesn’t guarantee skill/knowledge, but it does increases the odds of being able to clear the raid and to clear it faster.
If the GS requirement is so high that people have to have raid items, it also immediately means everyone in the raid has done the raid before otherwise they wouldn’t hit the GS requirement.
Which in turn also means the people are more likely to know the tactics in the raid on top of having a baseline stronger character from the gear.

It is indeed very hard to find raids when you are behind the curve or you level up new alts. The more GS requirement raids there are the less raids will be there with little to no requirements.

Frankly speaking. People always chose the path of least resistance, why take someone with worse gear if you can find someone with better gear? It’s the easiest and fastest way to filter people out and increase your raids success.

Your options are basically:
-Find some of the few runs that don’t require GS till you hit the GS requirements (many of these will also be worse)
-Join a guild
-Create your own raid
