I’m a Tank DK in Wotlk at the moment with 3.5 GS, Crit immun and 27,4k life and I just got told, that my Gear is not good enough for Naxx25 this week (cleared it last week) and the guy who build the raid said “3.5k is not good enough cause people already got 4k GS”…
Don’t know what to do now, since I see no way to get 4k without Raid or if I should just stop with WotLK cause it is unplayable with such people…
Dont pug and you wont have those problems, most guilds will have their tank slots filled by now though so you would most likely have to be dps but you could always be the dps that tanks heroics and such for people and if one of the tanks decides to take a break you will be among the first on a short list of people if you have showed that you can be depended on already
I never understood the “Take your time” mindset in regards to leveling or gearing.
All you do is getting yourself behind the curve and won’t be able to get groups, especially PuG groups… since they all base their expectations on you having played enough to reach the 3.8-4k by this point.
Why wait? Why take things slow?
Better to rush and be ahead of the curve instead of behind.
Despite this being a troll post, it describes the state of things quite well
You can take it slow, but you should keep in mind that if you decide to stay behind, pug raids will be closed for you, and you’ll have to find a guild to raid with
There is nothing wrong with having no desire to rush, but you should mind the consequences of this decision. That’s how the game works and you cant change it
Another player that is gatekeeping other players because they started late.
You can easily get 200ilvl overall by doing hcs and plundering the ah. If you cant get in the raids as 200 ilvl with a pug, then the classic community is just a big blind nut show.
Gs doesnt tell how good you are, but how how lucky. Why lucky? Because naxx has barely mechanics and basically dummy fights.
No, this is not how the game works. This is how the mob mentality works. Nothing in the game itself forces the players to overgear. That’s an additional aspect added by players who overly value the efficiency. By the end of it being overgeared for raid is pointless. You still can only run them once per week so does “10 seconds” saved from better gear and meta comp really matter in the long run?
There are pug groups and pUg gRoUpS. When you pugging, it is kinda like a lottery. Last ID I was Naxx 10 pug. It looked like solid group. Inspect in front of bank was needed, achievement from 25 as well. Oh my, what a poo poo storm it was. Since I am no quitter, I stayed till the end and whole raid I was teaching them other tactics than , nuke it , . Worst 5 hours of my wotlk classic raiding experience so far.
Your gear is not enough but you have cleaned the dung, you understand:))
They want to clean dungs in the gear from this dung.
Well, what man I say. Think that Pfizer and Klaus Schwab are slowly resolving that problem with : )
Don’t worry, for last few days I had retri tank, arms warrior and unholy DK. And all of them told me I do not know mechanics and should focus on healing instead of writing.
Are these people unemployed and larp WoW as a job, or are they workaholics who cant enjoy a game for what it is; just a game? Today’s gaming communities will always be toxic and repulsive places to be in, as this modern minmax mentality reaches gaming from real life.
Seems like you have troubles understanding what I wrote. I personally don’t gatekeep anyone from anything. Please, don’t put words in my mouth. Thank you.
Whatever you’d like to call it. It’s a part of the game now and you can’t change it.
And they’re the ones, who spend a lot of effort and their time to create a raid party. You can either do the same and spend some of your time to create your own raid, or just deal with their rules
You’re mixing things up that’s for sure. At no point I advocated lack of knowledge. Not that Gear Score or even achievement for clearing the raid guarantee it. Nor am I advocating going in with a bad mismatched gear. Again from my understanding not something GS really tells you as it doesn’t take actual stats of the gear into consideration.
Nah the issue I see with it is unnecessary raising the entry barrier which basically means those that didn’t get on the train week 1 for various reasons (for me it would be fact I only started playing literally a day before WotLK dropped and due to lack of time/knowledge I still haven’t reached the finishing line) as well as those that cleared the raid and simply had a bad luck with drops. Goalpost that can’t be reached without the raids as the game simply doesn’t have alternative ways to gear up. Hell I’d argue it will only cause the game to die faster since it really kills any reason to catch up.
That’s kinda a downward spiral because let’s be fair if no one joins you now then what chances are they’ll join in the future? Wait till what? Next phase? Where by the time you maybe catch up with previous tier gear people will already require next tier fear?
Or maybe the next expansion since then you’ll have a chance to level and gear… Oh wait if what this expansions first days showed stays you’re already losing if you won’t have your absolute BiS.
