I’ve played the blood elf beginning zone through a few times, but there’s no blood knight storyline there. So, curious, how do I get to the blood knight storyline?
Sorry if i misunderstand the Question, but are you asking for the Heritage Armor Quest? (Blood Elf Transmog Set)
If so, you have to have an not-boosted Bloodelf at level 60 and be exalted in Silvermoon to get the Quest.
Thanks for that, I did not know that one, but I’m talking about the basic lore for blood knights. Like, they aren’t mentioned at all in the starting zone quests
The Blood Knight quest line (as well as most class quest lines) are long gone sadly. It used to be that there were some quests explaining how the powers came from leeching the naaru (this eventually got changed after Sunwell raid) and there was a quest to gain Redemption and how to use it. There were also quests for the charger and epic charger… I’m unsure about the first one actually, but definitely the epic had a quest.
The quest for Redemption was removed due to idiots who didn’t do the quest and thus didn’t get the ability, or even did the quest but still didn’t realize they had to put it on their bars. Don’t remember which expansion removed the mount quests, but it went away with the equivalent warlock ones. Think it happened when mounts became account-wide. As for the class weapon (the ranseur) that was removed when every class got the helmet quest and the helmet quest went away with either BfA or Shadowlands I think. Note that the ranseur can be gotten again in the Shadowlands BE paladin quest.
I assume the Blood Knight quests are still present in Classic though, and the first ones are around when you reach Ghostlands iirc, so if you really want to see them it’s not too much of a chore.
I remember these quests very well! Definitely a shame that their now discontinued, I do feel like these should be preserved in the timewalking sections!
The first one was a freebie. You could train it for 1g, which came in handy as the alternative was to spend 40 bucks on the slow riding in TBC.
It was Wrath, right afterwards. I waited on warlock till the prepatch so I could get the dreadsteed and a flyer dirt cheap
Nope. In Wrath you can still do the mount quests and even get an achievment for it. It is just nearly nobody did they anymore because where before you got a nice experience AND cheaper riding by mid WotLK you got faster and cheaper just to by fast riding and the spell because the fast mount could be bought at level 40 for 5 Gold for riding skill and 1 Gold for the spell while during the quest you had to be 60, use arround 100 Gold for quest items and go to dungeons that by then where not really populare anymore because you got faster and better gear in TBC dungeons.
That whas actually with cata together with the rest of the Class quests too.
The ranseur where part of the second Pala Class quest.
Except one where you got the slow Blood Knight mount which whas basically, that the Knight Lord Valor congratulate you to your achievment (of reaching level 40) and promote you to a Knight and with that give you the slow Mount.
For getting every Blood Knight Quests one has in WotLK to reach 60 and so do the quest to get a thalassian charger which includes going Stratholme.
It was 30, that’s when you got the slow mount in TBC.
My bad then, but gonna check up my Questie tomorrow. And I didn’t know there was even an achieve related to it. I wonder if it was an incentive for completitionists?
All those class questlines were available during WOTLK even if the spells obtained on the quests were available in the trainer, like the quest to unlock redemption.
Back then Blizzard still had some respect for the lore so they didn’t remove lore quests from the game even if they no longer serve any “purpose”. It still was in the game so people could enjoy the story.
It was the same with some TBC epic quest chains that rewarded titles like Hand of Adal. Once TBC ended instead of removing the whole quest chain to make the title exclusive Blizzard duplicated the whole quest chain without the title, so the title was exclusive but the lore was still in the game. Nowadays they don’t care, they remove lore quest chains without contempt, even some that never had any reward like the quest chain to free Baine or Thrall from Torghast, removed for no reason in 9.1.
Only on the last patch, three months before WotLK similar like the change in Classic from cheap mount related riding skill with expansive mount to expansive general riding skill with cheap mount.
The reason why this quest whas not available in TBC Classic because they started TBC with slow riding at 30 already.
I feel like this is more to honor those that did the work for it. Because there is an achievment for doing questline for the scepter of the shifting sands too and in Cata they added one for the Shen’dralar to honor those that did back then all the work for them.
You have to go play classic, unfortunately.
there is a blood knight set for blood elf paladins, i suppose it has some tiny bit of lore maybe ?
It starts in Oribos.
Are old paladin quests all deleted ?
Yes. They only did this new HD Set because for the old set you needed either Molten Core Set or TBC PvP Gear and players wanted to get another chance to get to the famous class weapon after the obtaining whas delated with the rest of the class quests as part of “updating the lore”. Now for becomming an adept and so instead of getting a ranseur you only get a mace fitting for your spec which is at least looking like a silvermoon weapon and you only have to visit Shadowfang Keep without needing to go to Ragefire Chasm and Blackfathomdeep and instead of a blood elf smith it done by the orcs.
The one that bring you since cata to a full fledged knight or even champion is now going to the Blackrockdepths where instead of Blood Knight Armor you get as a reward the T1 Headpiece.
So yeah the only class that still has access to some old class quests are Blood Elf mages.
