So I was doing hellfire ramparts with my DK, in the second boss a warlock needed on a melee necklace and said nothing about it. I told him to trade me the item as I was the only melee dps class in the group, he said he missclicked and that he can’t trade me the item.
I’m pretty sure you can trade items from dungeons for a while, so he was basically using a lazy excuse on top of the “misslick” bs.
When I went to report him, there’s no specific option to report for ninja, just disrupting game or such. So now this prick is just gonna get away with my item and that’s it? Nice reporting system lol
you can trade epics from heroic but nothing from normals

A ninja?!
I think you are playing a different game!
It’s called a “Rogue” here!

Blizzard does not handle most ninja looting cases unless it was agreed beforehand you were supposed to get the item and I’ve only seen them do it to raid items not dungeons.
On the item being tradeable, only Heroic items are tradable not normal.
Well, what can I say. I literally carried this subhuman backpedal bots whole dungeon just to get my item ninja’d by a “missclick” with no option to report. Even on private servers you can report and get banned ninja looting, and GM’s actually check themselves the report.
So glad to pay a quntimillionary company to have full automatized system
Yeah, we don’t have ninja protection in Wrath. It came later (MoP?)
Clicking need is not ninjaing, contrary to popular belief. Is it bad form, yes, but on need before greed it’s not against the rules.

Its not always lazy excuse. Yday I was running strat with a group and agi axe for hunters dropped and I pressed need by accident cause I was falling a sleep already and didnt pay enough attention I gues. Still feel guilty as f even tho he said it was ok.
I’m surprised noone else mentioned it already, but thanks to #noRDF crowd the reputation of individual player still matters a lot in Classic, so all You have to do is make everyone on the server aware of this incident, and said ninja will get his punishment of not ever getting invited into guilds/pugs/dungeons/other group activities. At least that’s how it’s supposed to work, according to people in RDF discussion threads.
Just don’t write the guys name here, this can get You banned on forums for naming&shaming. But I believe You already know that, as You avoided it in Your posts.

Stop crying. It’s just a levelling necklace. The guy made a mistake and misclicked, stop having a childish fit over it.

Anyway stamina and crit aren’t bad for a warlock.
I was told this doesn’t happen under our current system and only happens with RDF enabled.
I guess you’re in the wrong here OP.

More than the item itself, what annoys me is that now I know that people can need on items they can’t equip by missclick (or not), and they can get away with no repercussion. Okay, now it’s a leveling item, but what if this happens with a more important item or anything? Blizzard should implement a proper dungeon/raid reporting system tbh.
Wrong. You can only trade items from raids and HC dungeons not normal dungeons.

No, they shouldn’t. People should not be punished for a mistake so minor.

This is what he said when I told him about it btw:

needing an item isn’t considered ninjaing, ninjaing is mostly only referred to when someone has PM and takes all items or FFA is the loot rule and you take everything
to counter that caster can roll on melee stuff: change the loot rule to Need Before Greed

Personally, I’m glad the ban-hammer doesn’t swing lightly. I don’t want a completely safe sandbox, I prefer an RPG where choices matter and REAL reputation means something.
Call Chuck Norris. He will deal with that ninja in the ways blizzard can’t
