How do I see where to get items?

So I never really cared about tmogs, but recently I started looking everywhere for a good DH tmog and found this guy ingame and thought he looked super cool. So I saved his tmog. After this I went to the transmogifier and press on the tmog. However, since I have only 1 of the items required, I see my character with just one piece of the armor. How is it possible to see what items I need in order to complete the tmog?

If you hit shift+p and go to the appearances tab it’ll show you a bunch of tmogs with a preview. It will also tell you where they come from. if you’re still not sure exactly how to obtain them, wowhead will have you covered.
The appearances section will even show you which pieces you’re missing and where to find them, ie: vendor/boss drop.

Edit: I believe they may be located in the “Sets” tab

I did that. What I mean is that I inspected another character, view in dressing room, new outfit, save. Now I cannot see what I need to get.

Ahh, I see. Sorry. There’s probably an easier way, but what I usually do is inspect, see what it says for “Transmogrified to” and search it on wowhead to see where that particular piece comes from.

You should download the mogit addon, it shows all your outfits even if you dont have the items.
