I am confused with the new battlenet mobile application. I want to be offline on mobile and online on desktop. My mobile is obviously on 0-24 and I don’t want it to show me online on bnet 0-24. Also, the only reason I have this application is to authenticate. The previous app worked perfectly, but is being rolled out so I was forced to change to the new one. It started spamming me with social notifications because it shows me online.
I can disable notifications, but people still see me as online and if I change that to “offline” in the app it changes my global bnet status, so when I finally start my PC and launch bnet or a game, people see me offline. This is causing confusion and I don’t want to keep switch status multiple times a day. This is nonsense and I can’t understand why it was designed this way unless blizzard KPI is to push people being online and interact.
Is there a way to have myself shown offline on mobile and online on PC without having to switch status constantly?
Me too.
Does this app have to be on all the time? Can it be turned off? I don’t really want an app running all the time on my phone draining power and using my data.
Maybe try some of the settings in the app controls on your phone. You should be able to stop it running the background and stop it being able to function on mobile data.
I’m not running the app unless I’m actively chatting through it and it’s showing me as online on b.net, even when bringing up all apps and pressing close everything.
There has been no battery power used by the app today so its safe to assume it’s not running, yes? But I’m still showing as online in b.net, just as being away, if I close my desktop app on the computer.
Why do you even have the privilige to write green-text if you not even trying to understand the problem.
Thats exactly my problem, even if I shut the app and it keeps showing me “online” or at least “away”. Just for you, I turned my phone off and waited 10 minutes, and it still shows me online/away on a second account viewing on my PC.
On the other hand I have over 20+ bnet friends being constantly shown as “away” because they have the app on their phone. It makes no sense. I am now visible 0-24 yellow “away” status just because I want to have an authenticator, or I need to manually switch my status all the time from offline to online…
How many times does it have to be explained. The status is shared across mobile/desktop. If I set it to “offline” on the mobile app, it changes the desktop app to “offline” too. I don’t want to do this manually 1-2+ times per day, whenever I decide to play. I don’t want to be shown visible online/away 0-24 just because I have authenticator on my phone.
I let mine run in the background which is why I’m always online on mine but I don’t have any issue with showing online. I also just treat it like another messenger app.
But I presume if you don’t let it run in the background it wont show you as being online.
it doesnt show you online it just shows that if someone sends a message you can get that as a mobile notification. it also says mobile. i havent tried but if you want to get rid of that try turning of mobile notifications that might work. nobody’s gonna assume you’re online because it says mobile
I think it only says mobile on the launcher but I’d have to double check.
Edit to add:-
On the launcher it will tell me if they are ‘on Mobile’. In game it will tell me if they are ‘In App’. So I guess everyone that is just a bnet symbol is on mobile when you are in game.
