I found a lot of topics about Chromie time on the forums but none of them really answered this relatively simple question…
I am using Shadowed Unit Frames, talked to Chromie on a lvl 46 character, selected Cataclysm, went to the board, talked to her again and then she said something like “okay have fun saving the world” and now I have option to go out of Chromie time when I talk to her.
My question is, is there a way to tell you are actually in Chromie time? I flew to Deepholm but there is no icon on my UI or anything except I see the NPCs are scaled to 46. Does this mean it worked?
I am very confused about this system to be honest and I am not sure if there is supposed to be some visual indication or something and SUF is blocking it…
Check the Random Dungeon Finder. The options to queue for a certain set of Dungeons changes based on your Chromie Time expansion.
For example, if you selected Cataclysm, at level 46 you get the options to queue for Random Classic Dungeon and Random Cataclysm Dungeon, besides any Timewalking options. If you are in no Chromie Time expansion, I think it shows Random Battle for Azeroth Dungeon.
Edit: also yes, if Cataclysm NPCs and enemies are scaled to your level, that should mean you are in Cataclysm Chromie Time. If I remember right, if you are in no Chromie Time that level is either Legion or Battle for Azeroth.
The mobs in the zone should be scaled to you. If you see level 46 mobs then you’re in Chromie-time.
Otherwise they max-out at a particular range. Eastern Kingdoms is level 30 and Broken Isles is 45.
