A few months ago I signed a guild charter for a guild that will not complete. I have tried /gquit and /guildquit. It says that I am not in a guild. But when I try to sign someone else’s charter, it says that I AM in a guild. I am caught in-between.
Does the guild vendor in SW have anything to say? Ideally “Cancel” 
I don’t think you can. You could try submitting a ticket and see if a GM is able to cancel your charter sign?

No. If I try to buy a charter, it says I need more signatures. Nothing about canceling it. No other options.
Simply join a guild that is formed, that should unsign your name, then you gquit and do what it is you want to with a new charter
Is it your guild? Cause then i’m sure we can arrange to get enough ppl to sign it for it to complete. If not, try as suggested above - join a guild that is already formed?
It won’t let me join any guild. It keeps saying I’m already in a guild. And my guild contract has totally disappeared.
Agreed, best solution for the OP.
Perhaps a silly idea, but maybe it could work: delete the character, create one with the same name, log in, log off, delete that too, and undelete the original one?
That should get rid of all guild associations.
That won’t work if the char is over level 50, the name won’t be available for 90 days and it carries the risk of losing the original char altogether.
A ticket would be the best way to go I think.
Or I’d be happy to make a char on the same realm and sign the charter if that is at all possible OP, just give a poke here I’m available in game after 5 realm time.
Have you signed up to someone else’s Guild… or can you not find enough players to sign your OWN Guild charter?
I’m guessing the former… have you tried mailing the GM (if you know/remember their name)?

It works, because the name is only reserved from other people’s chars. If you create a new one on the same account, you can use the same name. Done that a few times before, as recently as early SL.
Thank you all so very much for your advice and comments! My guild charter has completely disappeared, so I give up on that. I turned in a ticket and they cleared it for me. It seems nothing is ever easy anymore. lol

Glad it got sorted, if you ever need help with a guild charter again just make a thread and I will make a char to sign it and I’m sure others will help out too
