how do these PvE soyboys even enjoy raidlogging every week, killing the same easy bosses
its so amusing when ur guild goes from 3 to 50 people on when its raid night, i cant understand how people can enjoy that kek.
doing ssc/tk feels like a chore, really boring, & plain zones with no details and no quests or anything lore related. At least kara felt kinda mystical and had a beautiful surrounding, and plenty of quests. Even after doing kara 40 times i still enjoyed it more than my first tk
I find raiding quite fun and challenging, a good break from daily boring grind.
But then the raid it self isn“t very fun, the people you raid with makes it fun.
It depends on raid. If it is well organised, with people learning fast and wipes happening only due to gear restrictions, not because someone is dying to easily telegraphed and avoidable boss abilities due to their ignorance of boss mechaniscs, then it is fun by all means. You just finish the raid and have time for you other hobby, friends or family.
Most people who are raid logging are either paying RMT to skip grinding or just grind/play on alts in other guilds, since they can enjoy more casual and relaxing atmosphere there.
Itās a bit far from what it once was but what can you do.
Back in the day WoW was quite an unseen and unparalleled game, and people really were like āliving the gameā, being online every day, just farming mats or rep or chatting with guildies.
As for myself I would just do battlegrounds every night, the whole night when not raiding. I had all the gear and was at the honor cap and then just let the honor overflow. There was also 16h of scheduled raiding every week mind you, so you were prone to keep busy.
Guildies were online, mostly farming badges or rep or mats, because you never know when those badges or rep will be handy.
People are just more focussed on getting things these days. Battlegrounds are felt as a chore instead of the immense fun I once found in them, and people do them as little as possible. It is exactly known what rep and how many badges will be useful as the future is now fully known and ppl farm exactly what they need. PVE is also easy now and this means less time spent in the raid itself.
The attitude for PVE is also different I noted, there is an attitude of āfarmingā rather than facing the challenge of actually dealing with a āhardā boss. So farming easy bosses in as little time as possible, then go offline again. Again a chore right?
Either way, the result is people need less time online and spend less time online. By avoiding challenges you donāt teambuild with your guildmates and also donāt develop the desire to socialize with them.
lets be honest, wow is a time sink mmo, so by definition a lot of the stuff u can do in the game is pretty boring (like farming). only 2 redeeming qualities is the easy pve, messing about with ur friends twice a week and trolling for a couple hours on discord, and pvp.
the sad part is that even pvp has turned into āraid loggingā, most teams only play a couple hours per week on specific days, which makes th world feel more empty
Farming gold out of boredom and raidlogging is still better than doing torghast and kortia on retail. So there is nothing wrong and nothing not enjoyable
Back then TBC felt way more ābusyā (as in things to do) than it is now. Maybe itās because we only go after bis sets, know what/when to do stuff or we just overpower everything (raids/dungeons) so that weāre done faster. I think itās a combination of all of the above.
I was a bit stumped by this. I always knew Vanilla/Classic was a raidlog experience at endgame if youāre not leveling alts and have your pre raid bis, but for TBCC I expected this not to be the case at all. Yes in TBCC it took longer to be on raidlog status but we got there anyway, and I donāt think thereās anything that we can do about it. It will be the same in WoTLK, and I remember being online 24/7 in that expansion.
As for me, I started to play retail again when Iām not raiding on TBC. I used to be a big raider in retail but that doesnāt appeal to me anymore so Iām taking a more casual approach, collecting stuff and leveling alts, and Iām having fun.
