many non rogues might not know about this, but there was a quest in legion that rewarded 5K gold once a week for turning in 10K pickpocketed items. there was something similar in WoD but had a far lower reward.
in BfA this was STEALTH nerfed to 2.5K. meh… but a tentative ok. however, with 8.1 it has been STEALTH nerfed AGAIN to 1232g. as legion is no longer current, getting the 10K coins is something that has to be activly done, not passively. while it may still be worth it time wise, if it gets halfed again, it really wont be worth it.
WHY did blizz feel the need to touch this? if they feel it was unfair on other classes, why wasn’t the concept removed in early WoD when the first incarnation of it was introduced. not more than 2 expansions later!
so… question 2…
without playing the AH, what is the best way to make gold now? i probably have to resign myself to not getting the AH mount for at least 5 years, (in which time there will probably be at least 2 more gold sink mounts) but what about other mounts and stuff? the 3 new frogs are 1M just themselves. my gold has not gone up in BfA at all, and is actually hemorrhaging away, not that i had much in the beginning. so, how can we make gold to buy these things?
but isn’t this still playing the AH to a certain degree? and correct me if im wrong, but aren’t we getting major penalties for posting mats atm in the AH? or has that been changed back. also, as alchemy is very badly designed (discoveries based on rng? or has this also changed in BfA, not touched my 110 alchemist) you could end up needing loads of mats/time.
besides, without flying this is a major pain. and also the poor profession system atm. not that ive put much effort into it, but as a jc/bs i have to farm ore on an alt. i still am nowhere near maxing out either atm but have gone through so much ore
i spose i may look at this in 8.1.5, but it would be so much better flying. i had hoped there was a raw gold farm that was actually good, as they keep nerffing all instances raw gold.
No. Only posting mats in stacks of 1, or other very small numbers, was made more expensive. A stack of 200 herbs, or even 20, is stil quite profitable to post.
RNG has been (almost?) removed from crafting professions.
Raw gold? How’s Isle of Thunder/ToT? Old raids still give about the same gold they did in Legion. But that’s a lot of time for an amount of gold that looks smaller in the context of modern WoW inflation.
no. and no. blizz does not deserve any more irl money from me than i already have to pay through subs. no store mounts/pet. no server transfers. no token. while this may be an option for people who have money coming out their ears, or have no fiscal responsibility, this should not EVER be considered a way to get gold in game.
and dont take this as an attack on you. it is a valid suggestion, just not appropriate in general and especially in the current BfA climate.
besides, unless you’re just talking about a sudden boost of gold, if you did it to MAKE gold, the AH mount would cost you 450Euro?.. not realistic.
Island expeditions. Quite a lot of mogs and pets drop. Mogs range up to 250k. Pets up to about 100k. Made about 300k levelling an alt 110-120. So averaged like 30k an hour, with a ton of AP too.
