How do you 5 mask runs?

Hello there.

Here is my warlock : https://worldofwarcraft.com/en-gb/character/eu/kirin-tor/Hirolock

I really want to clear 5 mask, but I just can’t. I tried as destro, I was just not allowed to cast spells. I tried demon but felguard always die, and I just don’t know how to counter spells That I used to interrupt (BECAUSE DEMON NOT HAVING INTERRUPT IS FUN) thus I wipe.

I really would like to get 5 mask by myself and not by getting carried.

Thanks for reading.

I run SW and Orgri as Demo, and i problems only in stormwind. FIrst is Shaw, because in his encounter i cannot utilize my tyrant normaly, Shaw just vanishes and Tyrant start to attack eyes, and i cannotredirect him, so i have to spec in affli for that fight. Second problem is Bosses with casts that drains your sanity - Umbric and some guy from trade district. I have to summon felhunter for these guys, and because of this, i cannout use soul strike or demonic strenght talents. Guy in Trade District is not that bad, i can kill him using only one interrupt. But umbric is a whole another story. Umbric cast couple of spells that needed to be interrupted. And sometimes he cast polymorph more then every 24 seconds, so i can’t interrupt second one because spell lock of my felhunter has 24 seconds CD.
And polymorph problem also present with Alleria.

P.S. little tip - did you guys knew that you can end Umbric’s frozen fortes or whatever that spells is with implosion? - the one that prevents us from hitting him from the distance.

they should be a breeze with your ilvl and assuming you have the full research unlocked.

i’ve done sw/org as both demo and destro, though i find destro a lot easier and stress free. for trash i do big pulls, infernal, rof, and pretty much everything dies.

for bosses i found the maut trinket to be insane, with how much passive haste you get and with gift procs. i had it do almost 2 million alone to thrall once.

the trick to visions imo isn’t exactly dmg, it’s knowing how to pull in order to maximize your infernal/dark soul and gift of the titans.

Personally, probably because i main affliction on mine, but i figured the easiest way to go is affli due to being able to dot during those knock-spam & bowlingpin moments ( where you get bounced all over the place until you die ) and if your extra tryhardy, go destro on bosses

In stormwind I clear all expect mage and old town with big pulls clearing the zone with infernal and gift and outside of that make sure to time my gifts for the mini bosses.

I ogrimmar Its a bit slower due of the way the zones works but you can basiclly do the same in wisdom and in the first zone.

Getting a claw from maut is also highly recommended as it eats vision bosses.

With your Ilvl it should be as hard as island expeditions.
I guess it boils down to CD and pet management, like heal your pet if he’s about to die (NOT IF YOU HAVE THE DEBUFF FROM VOIDWALKERS), use tyrant on big elites/objective bosses, like literally your tyrant can pretty much solo anything 1v1 there besides thrall.
As for interrupts, I just ignore them all besides the polymorph on umbriss (felhunter for him).
With that Ilvl you can pretty much ignore all mechanics besides some really hard sanity hitters and just zerg through the place, and Shaw might be tricky but just need to take it easy keep your cool when against him.

Sometimes I save a trash pack before the big elite/thrall so that I can get some demonic core procs allowing faster a beefy tyrant before the elite/boss.

Thanks for answers

I never go above 39 because Warlock can’t counter Thing from beyond, so no, I don’t.

Ok, I always forget that infernal is a stun. Regarding mortal coil, I’m gonna use that. Thanks.

Since I tend to start there, I refuse to play demon because well, not having a baseline interrupt in modern wow is for me a NO GO (Which is not fixed yet in SL…)

Nice tip !

I do have all researchs and that’s why I’m quite tilted…

Ok, which I still have no clue about…

Ok, I’m gonna get that one since I dez that…

Ok, I’ll try aff then

That’s where I struggle the most. On bosses, I feel like I have to choose between DPSing and not loosing insanity…

one of the best classes to counter it.

Fear, Banish and Coil.

this must be a troll.

I’m not. I’m just a beginner and a terrible warlock.

I have nothing to hide : https://www.warcraftlogs.com/character/id/42893853

And that’s why I’m gonna change class once more.

I’ve done quite a few 5mask runs now, here’s how I approach it:

Neck:

  • Focusing iris lense = Major
  • Vision of Perfection = minor
  • Memory of Lucid Dreams = minor
  • Breath of the Dying = minor

Trinkets:

  • Vita-Charged Titanshard
  • Pocket-sized Computation Device with haste socket and Cyclotronic blast.

Be prepared!

Food buffs:

  • Ghastly Goulash for 2% hp regen per sec
  • K’Bab just incase.

Other buffs:

  • Greater Flask of Endless Fathoms
  • Battle-Scarred Augment Rune

Begin by locating the dead guy near the start to determine which potion not to pick up. Proceed to pickup as many potions as you can find without going out of your way too much, unless it’s a sanity restoration potion.

Be sure to locate any mini-buff bosses for the various 60min buffs such as haste %, Versatility %, health regen etc…

Pull packs no larger than maybe 6-8, AOE stun them as soon as they’re together (make sure you use felhunter to silence any shamans or dominators, DO NOT LET A DOMINATOR CAST WHATSOEVER)

Use your iris to aoe dps them down, use cataclysm then havoc CB the others if there’s any left.

When entering into boss fights open with:

immolate > conflag x2 > Infernal > CB x2 > Dark Soul > Focusing Iris > Pocket-Sized Computation Device > CB x2. Should be enough barring a few incinerates.

Make sure you dodge their mechanics though, don’t let yourself be stunned while you’re standing in your own pool draining your sanity. Make sure you prioritise dodging boss mechanics over anything else, even sanity drain because you can get that back after killing the boss. Do not let the boss drain your sanity unless it’s unavoidable like the glaring/ gazing eyes in stormwind or the grab that orc does just before he jumps on you. Nearly everything else can be completely dodged.

If you’re in a dangerous area, take your time and pull packs no larger than 3 as you still have your own void demon to fight when that spawns.

best trinket is maut one i think. With azerite beam you can pull half of the zone or more depending what are you doing. Ppl tend to finish without any orb use.

Depends, but I can see where you are going. yes, with some afflixes those two are demo killers. Shaw is only killable if three tyrants proc and titants.

I did it with second felguard btw and vile. Just push them and when he disappears summon tyrant in between to extend them.

I always use manifesto of madness.
