I know about item from vault. You can get one of you have bad choice between gear.

JC item. It adds one socket up to 3. Generally 2 star one is the cheapest but it can go up to 2. For third socket you need to buy a 3 star setting.
The order you put socket slots in your neck must be from lowest to highest, so either 1-2-3 or 2-2-3, don’t put 3 first (unless it’s the cheapest option out of all) or else you will have to buy one again.

I can verify this… to my cost! The item is called Tiered Medallion setting fyi.

It’s clear as mud. I just used (wasted) a gold for a second slot, expecting it to add two, only after googling did I find out what happened, it’s not explained anywhere in game.

  • Profession gear and Cobalt Assembly rings are now eligible for socket upgrades. This fix is retroactive and requires relogging.

What items can add sockets to rings now lol

From the weekly vault
If you don’t select any item you get the option to get coins instead

Right next to you there’s a vendor that sells you an item that can socket defined slots (helm/rings etc) for these coins
