Okay. So atm im hovering from 2.3 to 2.5 mmr at around 2.4 CR.
We are playing RMP Fire/Frost+ Assa.
So lately we hit a brick wall, meeting all these different melle cleaves that seem to stomp so hard its obnoxious.
One of the hardest matchups we have is TSG (uh/fury or arms/holy).
Basically the moment the arena begins they tripple mount and just run at our priest like there is no tomorrow.
We generaly have 2 ways of trying to deal with this.
We sap paladin, cheap dk (into a poly) , and kidney the warrior into a vendetta. Warrior trinkets , instantly uses fear , and our go on the warrior is gone , due to the fact that i cant do any dmg since im running around in an undispellable fear like an idiot for 6 seconds. Then he heroic leap+charges onto my priest and starts gnawing away. I blind the paladin after sap, which he trinkets and dispells his dk. His dk with then proceeds to walk up to my allready slowed priest and starts gnawing away aswell.
And the paladin usses melle wings and starts gnawing away aswell.
And now we have 3 people out of which 2 are on polly dr , and a stun Dr’d kill target with full ofencive cd’s killing my priest 3v1, ignoring both me and my mage completely. From there its like Kidney the dk He icebound’s. Kidney the warrior he get’s BoP’ed. Kidney the paladin, bubble. Try to sheep one , lol, they get dispelled. Slow them down? Freedom+Enrage so u dont really slow them down. Root? FREEDOM + Dispell. Ring of frost? Priest is chilling between a 100% and 60% slow all the time, so hes not going anywhere any time soon. It just stops them enough for him to get 1 cast off if hes lucky. HE can NEVER Cast, due to mind freeze, pummel, aphyxiate, stormbolt deathgrip, gnaw , and HOJ. So even when he fakes 2 interrupts, there is allways a stun waiting for his next cast.
We sap DK, cheap paladin into polly, and Kidney warrior. This method is less effective, cause the paladin just insta BoP’s the dk’s sap and then everything i said above happens.
End game is, by the time we go trough all 3 trinket’s +AMS+Icebound+x2 Bop’s+Sac+Enraged Regen+Divine Shield+Divine favor our priest is literally DEAD in the GROUND. There is just no way he can survive when both warrior and DK connect, which happens eventually. He goes trough PS/Trink/Dome/Rupture and then just drops. It’s unpealable.
And keep in mind that these are 2.4 mmr players , so they are not complete mongoloids, they know how to peel for the paladin effectively in our goe’s. How to pre Defencive stance a burst etc etc.
Ive been looking at some high ranking streamers try to deal with this, a couple of days ago i saw pikaboo stoping a 3s RMP session at 3.1k CR due to the fact that his priest ragequit the game after getting pummeled into the ground 3 arenas in a row by this comp.
I just feels so bad looking at these people siting at 2.6-2.8 k mmr doing nothing but mongoloiding their way trough arenas without any sort of setup’s / CC lighnups etc.

Well as a priest that played at 2.4 k CR this season i can tell you that all you do is what you basically have to do for your priest. The win condition for RMP vs TSG would be the priest surviving about 3-4 minutes into the game, so here what i would say:
Priest should have (i have at least) items replacements with versatility. In best case with items and traits you can get lik 15-16 % versa.
CC on war and dk only when they are using offensive CDs. First 1-2 minutes of the match would be peeling for the priest. Priest should be able to handle them if they have no CDs poped. with Shadow ment talent (10% dmg reduciton) + 2 x Enduring luminance traits.
pop vendetta on second kindey as they will prolly have no trinkets at that time. This will apply extra pressure, hopefully making them go deffensive a bit
If the above does not work, consider changing the priest with Pala
Thing is, if i pop vendetta later on the paladin will just bop him. And if the pala is polied he will jus trink and sac. Or bubble and sac/bop. But versa gear is a good idea doe
True, this is why i said the win condition is the priest surviving for like 4-5 minutes. After that no trinkets no cds you can get the control over the game.
Yeah. That worked up to 2.2 then they actually grew brain cells and figured out that they have grip/fear and disarm to completely cancel out our go on the pally.
ok so in this opener you’ve traded your stun and sheep drs, kidney and vendetta for trinket fear from the warrior. it’s a terrible trade. you also don’t have drs to peel so now they’re gonna go big on your priest while being mostly unpeelable.
for one i wouldn’t kidney. cheap shot the warrior, then you can kidney off that if you want or you can swap pally with a step kidney.
you could also cheap shot or sap dk and cheap shot warrior while your mage sheeps the pally. a pally that’s running in the open doesn’t have a great way to avoid getting sheeped. then you also still have stun dr for a pally swap.
i also don’t think it’s right to kidney the dk after you’ve opened warrior. you’re well aware you don’t have a lot of time, and letting them use all of their team’s defensives because you are going on everything will make it take longer for you to win, which is bad news for your priest.
as for getting peeled on pally goes, cover more. they’re stacking on your priest, you can double fear, double DB, nova or sheep. you can also bomb a pally go which makes it more difficult for them to peel. stops storm bolt, asphyx, grip, charge disarm. mage can blink into the bomb as well.
if you’ve got the warrior’s trinket out of the way and the pally isn’t playing in melee range, you can get cds or win with a bomb on warrior if your mage looks for a sheep when the pally comes running in on his horse. you’ve got either trinket or bop with your blind, so he’ll likely have to trinket or bubble the sheep if the warrior lives the bomb.
try to do things quickly. say you get a trinket sac from the pally. rather than being like okay that’s trinket sac let’s wait for next go, step kidney or cheap and try to get bubble too.
