So currently all 3 Monk specs “has to” choose one of the statues in the monk common tree.
Do you think it’s a good way for the talent tree to end?
To me, it seems like most other classes has much more fun choices at the bottom, that they really look forward to, and they have some variety of playstyle options. Monk just has “what statue would you like to put down?”. Not really much of a choice either, concidering they obviously have 1 statue for each spec.
Absolutely horrendous and frankly a poor design and efficacy choice by the devs. With the exclusion of White Tiger statue, all the statues we had at one point were early choice nodes and/or talents that at the most expanded our kit to be more comfortable as a first stage. Jade Serpent Statue moreso because it was -core- to the kit and identity of Mistweaver.
They could have done it easier for themselves and brought in some former Covenant abilities or now defunct Monk abilities in the past. They could have given the latter - such as the Dodge Brew - to Brewmaster instead of sticking Bonedust exclusively for BrM, and rather opened it up to every class by putting Bonedust in the class talent tree instead.
Just an example. To highlight how it could have been easily remedied - and still is - to make Monk class talent tree capstone more… actually attractive.
Not really too hot on them, as with the exception of the White Tiger Statue the other two are extremely situational and have niche uses.
Jade Serpent Statue may have some value for Mistweaver caster build, but the Ox statue is only really useful if you want to move a specific pack in a dunfeon or raid to another spot as soon as humanly possible.
My personal feeling is that all of them should be baseline for their respective spec (tiger for all three) and we could get some better talent setups for their place.
Well, as a Mistweaver, I absolutely love my Jade Serpent statue. I also think both the class and spec tree is really well designed, as a Mistweaver that is…can’t really say from other spec perspectives.
Having two viable but completely different playstyles to use in a single spec tree is simply awesome, something that none of the other healer classes I play have. So yeah, I’m well satisfied!
Not a fan. As a fistweaver I am not using a single one. Probably the most uninspired last talents in any class tree.
They should move Invokers Delight and Faeline stomp (and turn this into Chi’ji stomp) to their place.
