Just curious as to how healers heal these days. Do you use mouseover? Do you click ? What makes healing easier for you?
I used to Mouseover heal on my Resto sham but fancied leveling this one and was curious if there are easier ways of healing.
Mouseover macros.
Couldn’t imagine doing it any other way.
Well, I log in as Mage, go like POW POW POW, 120k damage / 150k healing gg ez
Vuhdo or siminar addons.
They do need alot of setup though
Click + heal. The ooooold fashioned way.
And if you’re wondering. No I do not raid or do M+ as healer. Only BGs where i’m either yelled at (and yell back) or am the TEAM SAVIOR!
Mainly looking into pvping max level if anyone has any pointers n tips for that. 
I’ve been using the addon vuhdo since… well, many years now.
It creates mouseovers, party/raid frames and tracks hots/dots/debuffs - if you want it to.
Due to it beeing highly customizable you can choose how much, or how little you want to see on your frames, making it perfect for multiple characters, classes and contents.
I’d recommend giving it a try, although it might confuse you the first time around.

By getting these addons would I still need to make mouseover macros for every healing ability / utility?
Agree 100 % with mouseover macroes. But some addons is usefull as well to track hots, buffs, raid cd from other healers etc.
Mouse overs and clicked addon (used to use clique, but prefer the interface of clicked).
I have an MMO mouse, helps me a lot ^^
No but mouseover are very good to use so make a little mix whats ever comfy and best for you .
With the addon Clicked you can make macros using the addon as well as bind with it.
If clicking and healing the old fashioned way was good for the long term, I would be doing that.
However Mouse over FTW
I use Vuhdo. I used to use Healbot a long long time ago in a galaxy (where draenor was) far far away, but I prefer Vuhdo. It does take some time to configure it, try it, tweak it etc… but the ends justify the means.
I used to click frames and heal for the longest time. Tried some healing addons but they all felt awkward. Finally, I just made mouseover macros and to be honest, I can’t see myself going back. It’s debatable if it makes me heal any faster because of the gcd, but however you slice it, it’s half the inputs needed so if nothing else, it’s half the physical strain on both my hands and my mouse/keyboard, neither of those are indestructable unfortunately. It also has the added perk of letting me keep the boss as my target most of the time, making it much easier and faster to weave im some dps.
Is there a better wat of doing things? Probably, a lot of people swear by stuff like Vuhdo or Healbot. But I never liked those and I don’t like relying on addons for anything if I can get by with the default interface and macros. I’m doing fine with macros for tge time being.

Just do mouse over macros and healing is easy peasy. You don’t even need to keybind everything. Just keybind the spells you use the most and you will be fine. Thats my experience as a holy priest, as a specc with way less skills and buttons you probably can just keybind everything as a mouseover macro
The standard wow interface + mouseovers is the best tho. I can’t stand the interfaces vuhdo and healbot and others have
VuhDo, i can’t use anything other. Healing with my mouse buttons and mouse +shift/ctrl/alt, this way i have whole keyboard for my binds and let’s be real shaman have a lot of them.
For me it’s the other way around. But if you don’t like them visually you can easily change it, that’s why I love vuhdo you can change EVERYTHING up to your liking.
i tried Vuhdo last in bfa. it just makes things too complicated and technical for me. i would need a long guide just about how to change its countless amount of settings
