No CR. No BL. No Buff. Why would you invite one unless they are your friend or absurdly overqualified for the dungeon you’re running? When you’re applying for group, do you ever feel excited that they have a hunter? Nope!
Been trying to get into a +6 GB for an hour. No such luck.
Use my key? Well I don’t have a GB! Cycle through it? It might take me 20 or 1000 hours of cycling! You never know what key you get next.
I have two choices:
Level an alt: just so time consuming. I’ve invested too much in my hunter. Between professions and hours to get into raids. Even after all that, I feel like I’m way behind. It was so hard as pug hunter to do all of that.
I quit wow. This is easier and I’m leaning towards it. If I look at my day, the worst memories are associated with wow. Whether the frustration of getting declined or the frustration of not getting loot. Frustration over bad runs? Nope, I have a thick skin for that. At least I’m playing when I’m having bad runs. The worst is just spending an hour to get into a group.
Edit: I just canceled my sub. This ain’t worth my time. I’m parsing 99% in normal and I’m 8/8 hc and still need and hour and half to get into an hc raid or a +6 pathetic GB.
Well, you don’t need to play “Lone Wolf”. When I tried out MM last week because BM sucks so hard currently, I didn’t want to play without at least one of my buddies, so I had a BL to offer thanks to my spider. … But yeah, I’m generally also annoyed Hunters are so useless for group content, because the Hunter set mythic tint actually looks nice this season… °sigh°
You do have BL. Hunter also has very good utility and is very durable as a class. In GB you could even clear tentacles in a worst case scenario. Overall hunter is decent.
Most people probably don’t like it because they made bad experience with it. MM requires knowledge about the dungeon and a proper tank, otherwise the damage is worse than a Ret would provide.
I’d personally prefer a Hunter easily over a SP, Feral, even Rogue, a Warrior and prolly many other specs.
I don’t invite hunters not because of the class performance but because hunter players, even to this day, tend to be the dumbest bunch tied with warriors probably.
Even in norm/heroic they leave taunt on their pet and butt pull packs and just overall it feels like I’m dealing with Skynets first iteration instead of an actual person.
Mm doesnt use a pet, and on top of that taunt gets turned off automatically in keys so you are simply exaggerating and borderline outright lying here.
Now if you want to talk about pulling accidentally, i dont have much to say there😶
i personaly put the mark then press aimed shot and then either arcane shot or rapid shot to make bum bum bum - if aue them multishot and numbers go brrr
and thats only thing that matters

I dont think your class is the problem. A lot of people (myself included) are having the same issue.
You’re 8/8 on hc, im only 7/8 and cant get in a group for queen because you guessed it…i dont have curve.
I know you mentioned it but my advice is run your own key, if you already have score for it go for valorstones or crests. I had been moaning the past couple of days about the wait time to get into keys and hosting my own keys but ive changed my tune as i timed 2 +6s yesterday… 1 was my key the other was my friends. I obviously cherry pick for a BL but i adapt, no dps have BL then im getting a shammy or evoker healer. My friend plays DK so thats 2 dps spots with no BL.

MM can use a pet and u can bring BL with said pet so lone wolf is not set in stone.
Bad phrasing from my part but what I meant is that they have taunt on in norm/heroics which just reinforces the huntard stereotype to this day. As a tank, even if it is casual content, its bare annoying.
Ye but it’s also about the difficulty. Speaking of similar ilvl, I didn’t see a single Ret who did less than 100k dps (overall) than a friend of mine, which means it’s probably not too hard to hit the right buttons. On Hunters I’ve seen easily ~300k dps difference, which is huge.
Another fun fact, I didn’t meet a single good frost DK yet, even tho it’s apparently one of the best specs right now.
This is why guilds are a thing… Sorry but true… these types popped up in Wrath even with the buff they wanted ppl who outgeared ICC and have achievements meanwhile I took random 24 others and cleared bosses most pugs do by the time they were still spamming…
WoW has always had an elitest community… for real group content get a guild.
You have CR: the item to CR, made by engineers, is universal and can be bought and used by ANYONE
You have BL: Bl pet. Summon, dismiss, BL just before the dismiss cast finishes = BL + Lone wolf buff
We have hunters mark while it isnt amazing it still helps for the 1st 80% of a boss or prio add in a pack.
Also MM pumps some great numbers, has some decent utility with the rework of trees, with more to come in 11.0.5 & is fun. Having very little issues with getting into keys.
