How does glow effect works?

Hi all,
Short question, how does Fullscreen glow effect works in wow? Why does it gives better colors? It is possible to achieve it without “glow” itself?

Lomg question.
I have bought a TN monitor which we all know gives worse colors than an IPS. My problem is especially blue is dark and unnatural. Tried the settings, nvidia settings and so on but nothing that would give me the look at previously i had on an IPS.
By some freak accident i enabled Fullscreen glow effect and… All of a sudden all my colors returned.
So my quesrion ia how does it work? Why it gives me so good colors? Can wow be configurated to give similar colors as if you enabled fullscreen glow just without the glowing? Thanks!

Glow as definition says is giving brightness to your colours i assume it lightens up every pixel so no color which is black will stay black, but every other colour will be brighter, so dark blue would be normal blue with glow. That’s my logic. Try to get this effect by adjusting brightness on your monitor.

Unfortunately increasing brightness does not have even close effect to what i acheve with glow effect.

Problem with glow effect is everyrhing is blurry :confused:

Did you try to adjust texture sharpness?
