So lately I’ve been farming Island Expeditions for Mogs mostly and mounts. But I don’t quite understand how all the loot drops works so I’ve got a few questions :
First of all, is the chance/quality/ammount of loot you can get from completing an island linked to the difficulty? Like for an instance you have a higher % to get an item from doing a mythic than a heroic and even more from doing a PvP one?
Second question would be : Is the loot you can get linked to what mobs you clear on said island? For instance does killing Rare X gives me more chance of dropping an item linked to that mob? Or is it even perhaps linked not to the mob but the chest that you open after killing the mob?
as far as i know, depending on what difficulty you run, the more stuff you get from it but im not sure if its only dubloons that drop more because i dont really see a difference between heroic and mythic drop-wise tbh. cant comment on pvp islands, they are cancer and i avoid them.
yes, the loot is linked to the mobs that are spawned on the island. rares dont give you a higher chance of loot though.
as i understand it that you have x% chance of getting an item in nhc, hc and mythic and the lootpool depends on what mobs are on the island, thats it.
all those boxes and chests and veins etc are just there to gather azerite faster.
edit: Higher difficulties of Island Expedition come with better chances at rewards such as mounts and toys and faster progress towards the weekly quest.
It doesnt work, its rng upon rng. I mean killing a sprecies gives a chance at that species loot table, but beyond that its all in the hands of RNGJesus
My friend group played about 10 islands last weel. Between us we got 3 mounts, 3 rare mogs, 5 pets and I also got enough for a chest which got me an extra mount.
Ah well all 3 of us had barely done any islands before so we had the full table to work with. Id say if you were trying to get a specific mount it would take a long time
yeah. i have only 3 island mounts though. the bat, the mop mount and the jelly thing. guess im just that unlucky.
i will keep trying thats for sure but its really frustrating, if i get loot, that i get the same pets and transmog over and over and over again when theres so much more thats missing.
Just to clarify, when i say 3 mounts between us, i mean I got 1 and 2 pets, and a second later from a box. Bit later one of my friends got the bat and a pet. Actually last friend didnt get a mount but got like 3-4 pets now that i think about it more. So ony 2 mounts between 2 players and 1 from a chest.
I get more loot running hc than mythic. When I run mythic and pvp all I get is more dubloons. I have all the island mounts now , not once did I receive a mount from mythic or pvp islands. Depsite running them countless times.
Also I was told you had a chance at having a mount drop from your treasure maps. Never got that only residium , AP or gold.
guess im just that unlucky.
