Can you just sit afk at the entrance waiting for the boost group to clear the dungeon for you? If not, I don’t understand why people buy the boosts.
People buy boosts to get boosted. They are buying a run through content that they can’t do, can’t get access to, can’t be bothered to do etc. The point of the boost is to get it done.
Some will let you sit afk at the entrance if you wish and others expect you to go through. It’s usually part of the booking process to establish if the person will be running through or not. The longer the season is out the easier it usually gets for boosters to carry as they over gear the content by then.
If you have to play with them you could just make a normal group and save the money. That’s what I don’t get lol.
You are presuming that everyone in this game is equal to you.
They are not. Many can not complete a +15 on time.

Thing is, with a boost, even if you run with them rather than sit afk, it’s going to be 4 very strong players on voice, rather than 4 randoms. Many people choose to run with them, to see them play, and be part of the Big Pulls™.
The better boosters will let you afk, though.

Currently you just list a low key and get free boost from valor farmers

Been enjoying that on my pally, a lot. 
I listed a +2 key, got two dozen 1.4k+ people applying within a few seconds, on alliance side, no less. Same with a +5.

yea average rio on my mists +5 was 1500 just now
